Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Not enough people left

They tried to bully people into leaving by pushing RTO for everybody, with no exceptions (or at least none that I know of). If we quit, they save money. Things didn't really work out as well as they hoped, or so it seems, so now they're having mass layoffs to make up for it. I know it sucks, but I take comfort (and great pleasure) in knowing how pi---d they are that they have to pay severance to so many people because their machinations didn't work half as well as they hoped they would.

It is no longer Fiserv, it's Worst Data. But in other random news, Fiserv named in Top 10 on the American Opportunity Index...what in the actual.... Leader in Economic Mobility...yep, just made 1200 folks more mobile all right.... Patently ridiculous.

Don’t burn bridges and leave with your dignity and integrity in tact. This industry is portable and people move around a lot and you never know who you will meet again. Find another company that aligns with your core values and move on. This is no longer Fiserv, it is First Data.

Don't burn bridges. Even if there is no way that you will return to Fiserv, you still might work for the same manager again at a different employer.

With how small the industry is, it is likely that you will be working with former-Fiserv employees in the future.

Giving 2 weeks notice is a courtesy for performing a proper handover so you are not leaving your former teammates in a lurch. In at will states you don’t have to give two weeks notice, but it is better not to burn bridges as you never know when you will have to cross back over it. The employer also does not have to give or accept 2 weeks notice.

You don’t get severance if you quit? I thought that was the whole incentive for giving 2 weeks notice

I know of quite a few remote people left….so those special WFH associates must be ones the company would crumble without…..or are in some kind of special group that I didn’t qualify for. But that’s ok, I’ll collect my severance and move on!

While most companies embrace WFH, our dictator does not. Even though productivity and quality was higher in 2020 and 2021. He fails to see the saves in real estate costs. He fails to understand work-life balance. It is a matter of CONTROL with his minions wasting time on badge swipe reports and Sapience reports. He thinks he is running a third world sweatshop.
