This company is horrible. They use the PIP as a crutch without any real way off of it. The managers are completely incompetent and end up there by default.
@bx+1jggdrb08. Not true. I was laid off too 6 months off for my mental health. Had no issues with the gap in my resume. Simply explained what I did any why. Bnym head of hr hated me and did everything she could to get rid of me. Now is preventing me from ever trying to come back...no I am no longer trying to get back but I did for a little while.
@ac+1jggdrb08 the job market was so sh-t from 2023 summer to 2024 fall that no place was hiring. I sympathize with OP as I have been applying to so many jobe each day to get nothing back.
The market seems to be healing now so time to jump ship.

Unless you are a long tenured person and planning to retire the SUB is really a bad thing. It leaves a gap in your resume. Layoffs are not seen or received kindly during interviews. Everyone knows that if you are laid off it is not only business reasons but the firm also did not attempt to retain you
Been there and faced this. Had to explain the hole. Personally I would not risk my future for the 3 months (12 weeks) forced vacation. Also if one gets another gig (in this environment) the SUB vanishes. I prefer to leave on my own terms.
Why can't you leave? Is SUB worth that much than your mental health?
Do you know SUB is a paid vacation ? It is not a severance package like one time lump sum windfall.

You know you can be proactive and look for jobs elsewhere right? Why stay in a job with a company and CEO and team mates that you hate so much?
