It will be interesting to see how well top Management can implement 5 day RTO when their middle Management haven’t managed 3 day in office well. I don’t see many engineers spending a single full day in the office in my area.

no, they won't implement badge out, even Amazon doesn't have it except in high-security settings. Facial recognition, and license plate scanners, it will be a Chinese factory and PR su----e.
Badging out is ancient technology. I have no doubt Ford will eventually implement facial recognition and license plate scanners. This tech is getting cheaper and cheaper and is already well within the reach of a corporation like Ford.
If you think I’m overly paranoid, keep in mind this is the same company that has hired thugs to attack its own workers.

everything is possible, but that would require significant infrastructure cost, in many Ford offices I've visited, it has to be built from scratch, I'm sure $ can be used for a better cause.

You think badging out isn't forthcoming?? The only case when badging out isn't reasonable is during an emergency situation. Otherwise it makes sense to badge out to collect employee data. In many facilities you already have to hit a turnstile button to exit, enabling a badge swipe for that is easy to implement.
Look for it when 5 day RTO comes in the near term.
there is no badge out, only in, so you cannot reliably track time spent in the office
We already do part of that. We have records of each and every badge scan for location, day, and time. It's part of my IT job to manage badge scanning.
If the top management really want to track the employees, they can always track the locations of work laptop, work phone, badge in/ out time, etc.
