Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Other agency experience

I would appreciate hearing from agency workers who are contracted by Aramco. Our agency started supporting the company late August and it has been an unpleasant experience. Our director who has no experience in our field beyond Aramco is extremely demanding but about really d-mb things. We often feel like we are explaining things at a pre-school level. He insists we have a full staff of team meme vets working out of their office daily and be accessible 24/7. They has an agency previously who came on during the IPO who was terminated this summer due to costs but in starting to understand they charged so much more. For a company that is so big I’m truly shocked by the quality of experience by its leadership team at the Director and Manager level

Yes, there is an issue with a young Saudi workforce. But the real problem is, each young Saudi expects to become a manager upon graduating from college. And NO Saudi wants to do a blue collar job. The thobes think they can replace experienced O&G expats with college grads who have no desire to get into the operations of Aramco. This will be the downfall of Aramco. Have fun watching the thobes flail and blame consultants for their problems.

Something they have not taken into account is unemployment within the Saudis. The kingdom is young and its population has grown quite a bit in the last 20 years, there are a lot of professionals who want to join any job with Aramco, the pressure is high if you add to that if the family has a connected surname. We are already seeing local new hires in areas that have nothing to do with their education. That is also why HR/IR at Aramco is for locals, many resent having relatives on the waiting list while they see an expat taking their place.

Poorly written, but almost certainly 100% accurate based on the legions of paid-up ta-d Aramco down votes.

This site, at least where Aramco is concerned, has lost all credibility and usefulness.
it seems that the tensions between expats and locals have hit critical mass. Bring it on 2025!
