What are the opinions on the service provider by LHH? It seems to be subjective & I am getting conflicting info from LHH & hiring managers as to how much years of experience to have on a resume.

some find LHH helpful--I was not impressed. felt like a miserable1-1 where they do ALL the talking. they hounded me via phone and email. also, my LHH consultant talked to me as if she knew everything about me (which was cringe) job openings that I was considering, interviewing and salary negotiation. telling me I NEEDED to talk to her before making any decisions on my own. So, I ghosted her and she finally got the hint.
WF contracts them to assist those laid off as if it's a fabulous benefit- so I imagine LHH is pushed on their end.
what's LLH?
I had a dedicated LHH career transition consultant. She was helpful, but she was either being disingenuous about the state of the tech job market or completely clueless. I always felt like I was being gaslighted.
Some of the classes have been helpful, but I agree with others in the resume review su-ked. The returned mine with a lot of fluff and wrote an "opening statement" that did not even reflect what I did. I continue to use my old resume, so that portion of the service was a complete waste.
the resume the LHH person sent me was pretty bad. random formatting errors (bold text in the middle of a sentence), etc.
i've tried to connect w/ my assigned rep a few times but about every other week i get an OOO from her. not impressed. going to hire someone to professionally fix my resume.
laid off in sept and over 50. pretty grim outlook atm.
What role and company?
I did not find the offerings of LHH really helpful. The resume they created for me was not very good and despite having a personal call with the resume writer, the second version was not much better. Eventually I paid someone to create a new resume and had much better results. I found some of the online classes ok but everything else was just not helpful. I am 50 years old and was laid off last year and it took my 6 months before I received a good job offer.
LHH is paid based on the interviews they obtain. I took their recommendation (I am over 60). The interview didn't last long at all. Some of the classes are ok. They are still very old-school when it comes in utilizing AI for creating resumes, letters. In tech if you are not using AI to do your job finding you are WAY behind.
LHH is not perfect, they give you some good advices and some very wrong advices. Google other free online resume service websites, get 2nd and 3rd opinions.
Because of ageism, the recommendation is to only put your last 10 years of experience on your resume. I’ve had awesome support with LHH. No lie, you’re going to have to put in work though. I’m very active on LinkedIn and learned new things on how I can enhance my profile. Utilize your LHH advisor and ask them questions. Take the classes they offer.
