Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Some of you need to understand that working hard is not enough

It's certainly not going to lock down your job. To stay in the game, you’ve got to play the political side of things. No one works alone. It's all about working well with others. If you can’t get along with your team or the higher-ups, it’s a red flag. Not getting along might just be the reason your position is short-lived.

Terrible place to work!! The managers there over 11 year wouldn't survive at other fine companies!!

Omg I remember that guy. If I remember correctly, it was right around the time WFH was nearly banned, so early 2019. The guy probably cooked his own goose doing that too. Absolutely pathetic haha.

IMO it all boils down if your manager and their manager like you. My boss was very well respected until we got a new MD that wrecked our team and got rid of him because she didn’t like him.

Agree but only to a point.
There have been plenty of tush kissers, brown nosers, wokey-dokeys, c- su-ckers etc. that played political games more than working and they still lost. Nothing beat that pathetic loser who started worshipping Charlie S. at a town hall and actually started crying and he was laid off later on anyway. In a sociopathic society such as this, you are not an all powered ‘being’. You are an all they can eat buffet instead. It will do you know good to prosti-tute yourself. Remember that.
