that the severance package that is supposed to be offered in February is nothing more than a rumor! She said who ever started that rumor is completely out of touch with the state of the company and the way SBC conducts its business! She also said that T is hoping for more attrition to help reduce head count and employees just seeking greener pastures. So, sorry to say the SIPP or VIP or whatever you call it these days is nothing more than a rumor!

You desperate people make me laugh and I did! I am the OP and made up the whole post. I never spoke to a 5th level manager, don't even know one nor do I care to. Just looking for reactions to my nonsense! It was worth the effort cuz I laughed at how desperate AT&T employees are to get a SIPP, RIF, VIP whatever you want to call it! LMAO!!!
The words reliable and 5th level at AT&T should never be used together. What you ment to say was that another lying 5th level at AT$T was giving me a bunch of sh-t that only a fool would believe so I smiled and walked away to resume my job search. Get the fu-k out homy!
These things crack me up. "There's going to be a SIPP". "No there's not." Have you all figured out that this is a big company and just because one org is going to do something doesn't mean that other orgs are doing the same thing. Some in my building (in a different org than me) have to be 5 days/week starting yesterday. My org doesn't start 5 days until March. Some orgs had to move out of San Ramon, Chicago and St. Louis, other orgs didn't.
There are no blanket statements or consistency to this company other than Stankey is a d!ck.
