NC mobility freeze

Anyone know when the mobility freeze for NC associates might thaw?

So frustrating to see MOBILITY on the Fidelity Forward 2025 slide as a company goal.

Not true for NC associates!

Been in my role for over 3 years, capable of so much more. So many new roles are posting but NC associates can’t access.

Going to start looking outside the company.

NC has specifically been targeted as being overcapacity and is not a site for growing headcount. For the other poster, if a role is posted for another fidelity site, you have to negotiate with the hiring manager and hope they are open to hosting the role in NC, which might not be a strategic site for that group or BU. It's a huge pita. Fid knows and doesn't care. Just get back to work, nothing to see here...

It’s harder to move for anyone. I heard it’s taking about a year and a half to get a promotion… unless you’re an inclusivity hire.

As they hire more in India, they will phase out the American workers. I hope we get our profit sharing this year. time to move on.

I wouldn’t mind going back to my old position…

do you think creatively? wow. if there is a role you like advertised in a different region, just apply and say you are in NC. HR won’t hire net new in NC, but if you are already based in NC there is a strong chance you’ll be considered. Don’t always assume the negative.

not enough people are quitting to open reqs, the only path forward is making our culture even more toxic and further reducing pay and benefits to encourage more attrition

Well there are currently 274 jobs posted in Texas and 36 in NC.

So maybe it’s not technically a ‘mobility freeze’ but effectively it is.

There are significantly fewer opportunities for NC associates than everyone else.

There is no NC mobility freeze.

Believe me, I would know.
