the numbers on that website are fascinating, they are going up in real time
it compares numbers now to numbers from 2000

This is the current thinking coming into the new administration

https://www.wsj.com/economy/trade/trump-tariffs-economost-stephen-miran-1d8f31f2

It very much depends on voodoo economics theory, that has a very very small chance of working. Sounds like Arthur Laffer all over again and his if we lower taxes, revenue will go up. How did that work out? Not too good given the deficit is now in the 30 trillion dollar range and going up. George Bush had it right Voodoo Economics The politicians in Washington (especially true believers) never learn. If it hasn’t worked by now, it’s not going to, and it’s just a fantasy. Time to put the true believes back at the kids table.

Biden not only kept all of Trumps tariffs, but double and tripled down on them with the exception of Airbus in Europe. Nothing happened. China's government absorbed 80% of the tariffs. Trump can not tariff Indian labor not in the US. There are numerous multinational companies with a US presence and their HR done in Latin America, Engineering in eastern Europe, IT in India. All Trump can do is throttle down the Visa lottery each year. Most of the US states accounting for EBT and Snap benefits is done in India. An accountant being paid $4k a month or $400 month in India? This method is what must big corporations do. IBM will continue to move it's labor where ever it is cheapest like most other large multinationals. Embrace the su-k. Prepare and protect yourself. If it makes you feel better , India is demographically doomed and it's fertility rate is in free-fall. BBC, India: Why a nation of 1.45 billion needs more children

Trump will not risk upsetting President Musk. He will not put "tariffs"'on Indian labor. He doesn't even know the difference between H1B Visas and the kind his country club uses.

Trump will use tarrifs to inflate prices for things made in China - which is EVERYTHING. Expect lots of inflation - just like last time...

And he will go after desperate migrants working less than minimum wage to ensure that all fruit picking jobs are protected for Real Amerikans! Americans need to be competitive and work these jobs. Stay super healthy and you won't need healthcare.

He will not: curb H1B Visas. He will not do a damn thing to protect white collar jobs being aggressively outsourced due to "AI" - that is, "All India".

How do I know? He did nothing last time. And this time Musk holds the reins of power and he loves H1Bs and outsourcing.

Its all moot when Trump sets the Tariffs against Indian labor at 100%.
