Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Input needed / help please

Morning all -
I’ve recently been offered and plan to accept a new role at another organization. I am looking for advice / input on how I can ensure that I receive my MIP incentive while possibly being as good an employee as possible.
I see 2 option: keep my mouth shut and give notice once MIP in bank acct but my preferred path would be to notify manager as early as today that I intend to leave by X date (after MIP disbursement). Problem is I don’t trust the group I work for as far as I could throw them. I absolutely think that if I open up it will impact the MIP amt received possibly to zero and I don’t want that. Would appreciate any inputs. Roast away. Have a great day everyone.

I actually knew a guy who left three weeks before his manager found out.

negotiate a sign on bonus to offset the MIP. Once you have that in hand give notice and leave. I agree with the comment of "don't give them any more notice than they would give you". If you are laid off or terminated, you remain a HON employee until the end of the meeting. They deserve no more than that.

Take it. Nobody can have worse benefits in this place. If you can negotiate to keep your pay or you can get a better pay, then keep your vacation too.

You got your experience. Now go to a real company. You will never regret leaving Honeywell. Trust me.

Make sure your MIP money is in the account first, after that those that matter don’t mind and those that mind don’t matter

do not provide excessive notice.
honeywell wont give you notice of layoff.
remember that your new position could cancel at any time leaving you looking foolish.
if you really like your boss give max notice 9 business days ahead.
notice on monday. last work day the following friday.
mouth shut. no need to discuss with anyone.

@at+1jh8177sq Hahaha, I saw HR bot downvote you within 5 minutes of your post, they are relentless on here! Agree though this place is nasty, North America operations in particular. NEVER have I seen a company more hated and for very good reason.

@av+1jh8177sq If their employment was terminated, that means that they received severance. That's not a bad thing since they wanted to leave anyway. If they did not receive severance than I doubt the validity of your story.

Always best to get MIP then resign. You owe the company nothing. They are the ones that created this level of mistrust.

I personally know of two engineers that gave notice to leave Honeywell. Their employment was terminated and they were walked out the same day. Just saying, the day you give notice be prepared to leave immediately.

Please, please wait for MIP! Honeywell HR is pure evil, there is no loyalty or dignity here. I have witnessed the most cold hearted actions from this company and any opportunity not to give you money will be taken. Whether you get on with your manager or not, it will not be his decision and as soon as your intent is known you will know it.

I have worked with several people who were in the same situation in BA (sales and management). They ALL waited for MIP payout before announcing. I believe you would be wise to do the same - unless you can replace MIP with signing bonus as suggested by someone ese. Good luck!

If you don’t trust your manager then say nothing and plan to start the new role following MIP payout. Or negotiate a signing bonus from the new place if they need you earlier.

I’m not sure if there is a “December 15th” rule like there is for 401k match, so I wouldn’t risk losing MIP unless otherwise covered by the new employer.
