With Husky we all worked and made a life for our families with Husky Energy. Cenovus Energy is such a volatile work environment is one that is frequently changing, unpredictable, and unstable. It can be caused by incompetencies from middle and upper management!

Husky lost 10 BILLION DOLLARS in the last of the company being separate from Cenovus. Just check the SEDAR filings for the end of 2020 fiscal year. The Husky staff and the assets are a disaster.
The real mystery is why the Cenovus board did not decide to fire every former Husky employee above the level of Individual Contributor.
I agree with working as a unified team but it’s so hard to when there is a clear bias within. It us vs them. Always will be. Husky had their issues Cenovus has theirs. But Husky was smart enough to sell and now it’s only a Cenovus problems. Issue is everyone at the top is too d-mb to realize it and cause they collect their large and inflated bonuses don’t care. If you look at those managers a large majority of them are all Cenovus or ConocoPhillips, so who’s the problem??
This current Cenovus is very much more Husky than Cenovus and that's a shame.
Cenovus is a brutal company to work for. They should have stuck to Upstream as they know nothing about operating Downstream assets. Seems like they know it too having “retired” 5 execs in Calgary. Never realized how good things were with Husky
Seriously, whoever posted this please leave!!! Take all of the incompetent Husky people with you, especially the Husky management and C-Suite executives who have ruined the “pay for performance” and bonus structure we once had at Cenovus!
Husky loved to promote incompetent managers. I'm assuming many of the pro Husky posts are from Husky managers demoted to an individual contributer role, that they are probably also under qualified for, and wanting their manager role back. It's time to move on, folks.
Cenovus talks a great deal about caring about people. On the downstream side, I have seen little to no signs that Cenovus’s corporate office employees can relate to or understand the grind of keeping an asset running. I see employees competing with each other and fighting for their existence. They are trying to take on work and solve problems that need to be done at the assets. I have seen enough to know it it’s going to get worse if they continue on this path. Honestly I’m hoping someone buys the downstream. In the meantime, I am starting my own job search in 2025. Energy will be hiring in the U.S. I’ll look for a better culture.
husky is GONE... and it's never coming back... their management style drove that company into the ground, if Cenovus hadn't bought them they would've gone bankrupt. so if you crave that kind of of management style, take all your money to your front lawn and set it on fire... and then you'll get a taste of the 'good ole days at husky'.
I want what this guy is smoking
Move forward already. We need the best of both legacy companies AND people’s individual legacy learnings from past companies. This is a basic adult concept. We need to be a single Cenovus. Get over the old days, share your learnings and learn from everyone around you and fix things going forward. This idiocy around legacy companies is going to ki-l us.
