Performance Bonuses

A little birdie told me some employees received performance bonuses. Did anyone else hear about that?

@xj+1jh9r4ywc the jobs not worth the worry. Also, there are a million jobs out there is my salary range. Entry level jobs are in my salary range cause inflations, kinda
Hilarious. Getting one of them is the annoying part. I think after busy season a lot of areas will be evaluated and shrink and or get offshored. Especially after the drive to 2025 failed so hard.

“Is this a new thing? In 18 years with Cigna I've never heard on anyone receiving one”

I don’t think people would tell others they got one because they don’t want to seem like they are bragging. I’ve never told anyone the years I’ve gotten them and when I’ve given them out as a manager, I don’t think the recipients talk about it either. The awkwardness/taboo nature of talking about salary and bonuses can definitely perpetuate some problems and lack of transparency

I actually agree with you that that all government businesses are a mess. Cigna in general is a mess. If I were you I'd be worried about my job getting offshored. So start looking and get out, make the decision yourself before Cigna makes it for you.

This is all I’ve gotten for the last 4 years at Cigna. I get it, if you don’t like
It, then quit. Obvious information to shut down anything I say that isn’t sunshine or what they wanna hear. Cigna will be fine without any one of us. Hope y’all don’t get canceled.

At your level you definitely wouldn't know anyone or how the business works. I get you're frustrated but desk level view is far too limited scope. Just leave the role there's a billion 55k a year jobs.

I don’t know details other than IFP didn’t meet shareholder expectations last year. IFP plans accross most carriers are lower because people are poorer and qualify for Medicaid. My opinion is IFP is low growth and low innovation. People hate the plans and doesn’t even feel like they have coverage people they are high risk so how high deductibles. I don’t see hiring and think IFP at Cigna has a toxic culture of constructive termination and favors white straight people who hold keeping things the same rather than changing. I’m highly educated have have been with the product for years and the pay su-ks despite me asking for more money. Keep in mind I don’t hate my job or Cigna. Just my opinions on the product. I’m in operations and see no evidence of big change and if you don’t shut up you’ll just get gaslit and abused until you quit. Your manager doesn’t want to help you move to another role as they take a lot of things personal. It’s just what it is, the whole framework on HR to sales to CS, they all just do there thing to keep stability of old guard. It is what it is, I got bills and the job market su-ks along with being isolated and not meeting new contacts at Cigna idk I just keep going until I get a break with hasn’t happened. Keep going out there y’all we got this. Oh yea, and remember they don’t care about you unless you can help them get where they want. So never get it twisted and focus on survival so you don’t get abused into ptsd. To all you who will say, I have a bad attitude. Your just mad, because what I say might mean something needs to change, and in IFP things don’t change. Also, I’ve talked to people on other areas over the years. It’s well known accross many areas IFP is one of the worst employer cultures in the company.

I echo the same feedback. I haven't had a good bonus in years. Despite performing well, Cigna would find some excuse how the overall business unit didn't so well like it was my fault. It doesn't matter if you perform well, they will pay you as little as they can for the sake of increasing profit.

Remember, Shareholders reward Executives with large bonus when profit increases. Business isn't growing like it used to so one way to increase profit is cut cost. They do this by laying off employees, reducing bonus, reducing merits, and compelling people to leave the company voluntarily.

I've never heard of one of those. Was the top performer on my team for years. I just get a substandard salary and mentions of teamwide layoffs while I watch my coworkers slowly disappear around me for all of my hard work. I've cut back my output by at least 70% over the last year as a result. I assume I'll get the same sh---y raise and bonus I always do, regardless. Unless, of course, this is another year NOBODY gets a raise.

Did IFP even make any money last year? They were in the hole by ALOT the year before. Also curious how enrollment numbers look going in to 2025 especially since they are the highest in many markets. Last I heard enrollment was way down.

Yes, this happens every year for high performers. They happen in December and are in addition to match bonuses

They're called spot bonuses. They are smaller one time bonuses that don't replace the regular annual bonus you receive in March.

Not me, in IFP, I didn’t have Q4 check in just end of year review. Was a great review, no bonus and same old stay in your lane.
