Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Of what use are ERGs anymore?

With work-life balance altered to the worst possible extent, who here even cares about the HHs and other events that the ERGs organize/employees attend anymore? What is the point of these groups anymore when barely anyone even has time for other pursuits. I say scrap them ALL just like they scrapped DEI. AT&T has to stop pretending they give a sh-t about employees.

The “use” is to “join” one and include in your review to show that you are “engaged”. And that’s about it.

Our ERG fell apart when we got cited by the fire department for burning crosses on people's lawns. Real shame. Ethnic balkanization of your employees is such a great strategy!

Because they would be fired by the same ge----o like you defending it. Just because someone has anonymity doesn't make them a coward, it means evading consequences for rightly speaking your mind.

As a past President of an AT&T HRC 'in the Before Times', I can tell you they all died a slow death the day they became funded from the Corporate budget, and not from it's membership. Once that happened, they just became another Sales Group, and we were forced to use our membership as extensions of the Sales team to hock T's products and services. Once that happened, it became a shell of it's former self.

ERGs were the original collaborative groups driving interactions with coworkers not part of your immediate department. Now every employee has additional coworkers to interact and collaborate with.

ERGs are nothing but the K-K for non-white-male ethnic groups.

Same thing as before RTO- discrimination. You think they’d let us start a Straight White Men of ATT ERG?

By having employer expectations for accountability during working hours?

I am being held to the same accountability now that I was before RTO.

Why don’t you ask folks who are active in an ERG rather than spinelessly posting on an anonymous site with your veiled message.

Sounds like you don’t care for the ERGs themselves vs AT&T pretending to care.
