I don't think Bloomberg runs this without pretty reliable sources. Two public companies, basically Aero and everyone else.
Now the question is where do existing leaders end up? How will Aero's new CEO like Phoenix?
What will the split do to our stock value? I worked for Honeywell years ago and have just kept my 401k intact but would like to know what the stock might look like after the split?
Honeywell is a great company to work for I did for almost five decades, but the problem I seen like many other old timers was they hired people with no Aerospace experience at all to be supervisors of shops, these people most are in there twenty's coming from small shops.coming in then telling those of use who have ran machines before they was born telling us how to work faster, or ideas they have, we have told the. We have tried that in the past and doesn't work, still will insist we do it, then find out it doesn't work. One reason I retired is for that reason, a person with no knowledge of the machine telling me how to run it, or why can't I go faster, Honeywell needs to change to hiring of supervisors, in the old days you had to go through supervisor school for eight weeks teaching you how to talk to employees and to listen to there advise or suggestions they have, not to overlord them like is the case now, I seen five of us leave who each had over thirty five years because we couldn't take a twenty something telling us how to run a machine they have never run or worked on, really sad, Honeywell is a great company I loved working there, but there hiring system su-ks! " just fill the position ". I hope in the future oneday that will change when you lose guys with a lot of knowledge because of the way they hire people is sad.
Seemingly it's been in the works for a long time. In fact ruminations were discussed on here over a year ago when we had good contributors. You would be surprised what gets quietly dropped on here between the noise, people missed some significant flags. Don't be surprised if there are lot of other big changes coming.
I'm seeing a couple more news stories pop up today. The basic gist is that 'people with knowledge of the situation' say that the split, not a sale, will be announced along with earnings on February 6th.
Given the number of decent to high quality news outlets running this, I think it is safe to say the chances of a split are quickly approaching 100%

Split off Aero and dump IA businesses. This is absolutely the rock solid strategy forward.
