Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Single good thing about RTO

At least for those of us who can actually do the commute, will be having actual office hours. I’m going to be very, very diligent about doing the bare minimum and ensuring I leave the office when the hours end - not staying a minute longer. Bye to late evening calls, and bye to anyone who’s used to reaching me at any time.

I was so accommodating with 4/5am calls (and weekends) with my global business partners for urgent projects. Not anymore! No flexibility for me means I leave at 4p. Deleted apps off phone and am done with going the extra mile. Can’t wait for the next pandemic and they frantically ask us all to log back on from home….. will be sipping a Mai tai at the beach.

Bare minimum here too. Want me on a 5am call? NOPE. Want me on a 5pm call? NOPE.

I’m gunna learn what breaks and lunches are like. Haven’t had those before.

I’ll chat and bs with others. That’s not a break, that’s collaborating with my colleagues.

This is the year to do the absolute least possible. And I’m really excited about it.

Schwab employee here. After our RTO mandate last year I stopped giving small amounts of overtime and started leaving on time. After a few months now me and everyone around me leave 30-45 min early everyday due to traffic. Before RTO I used to see a bunch of people past 5. Now it's dead everyday at 4. People need to keep fighting

No more travel to offsite meetings, not worth my time and effort and not worth the money the company is paying. Need to be paid more to travel.

Agree with attitude but really the way to frame this is as follows:

JPMC management has placed the highest emphasis on RTO above all else.
Therefore, employees should place RTO at the very top of the list of their job responsibilities.
In doing so, just as all other job responsibilities, are completed during business hours, so to the highest priority tasks are to be completed during business hours.
Commuting to the office is now deemed highest priority so the commute to the office is part of job requirements now.
Since we all know we can effectively perform our other job responsibilities remotely, we will now reprioritize our work schedule, as per management, to include the commute as part of the highest priority of RTO.
In practice, typical workdays consist of 8 hours, during which work related tasks are performed, so too commuting will be performed during those working hours.

I’ve already started. If I get in 5 minutes early…I’m leaving 5 early. I’m taking full breaks and lunches. No more participation no more helping out. Doing the absolute bare minimum

Before I would stay waaaay pass 5. Now ? I will be leaving at 5 sharp. You don’t respect employees then employees won’t respect this job. And imagine all employees not going above and beyond simultaneously, your profit will dip faster than nfts
