Have some initiative and you will always have something to do. By sitting, waiting for someone to hand you work to do, says ALOT about you.
Don't worry, you are not the only one that has nothing to do at work. That is why no one wants to be back in the office. It's upper management problem. They gave nothing to do as well.
@OP Probably many people noticed it, just don't care. I do my part, and if the rest of the company is twirling their thumbs, good for them. I am no manager, so in my annual objectives don't see anything like "chasing people down" or "forcing deadwood to work".

All you people that claim to be busy - what are you busy doing? Chasing recalls and defects? It certainly can't be developing that limited product lineup.

Yeah, that's what I was doing before they laid me off! They said things were slow, so I helped others out, but then bam layoffs. Sounds like you're in the same boat.
