I've been hearing that people are getting surplused without severance these days. Anyone hear otherwise?

“There are people who said they were moving but commuting a long way but were making it work with 3days RTO. But with five they were SOL and could no longer have severance.”
Those scammers were a key reason 5x8 was mandated.
You know what--as long as I'm in the office the prescribed amount of time, what difference does it make where I live?
False. Unless fired for cause.
severance is slated for reduction to 2 weeks cap after May timeframe. Not eliminated, quit spreading that rumor
No severance package from AT&T. The severance comes from your state in the form of unemployment benefits. The new term is "let go" for non-union employees. Now I don't feel so bad about being on strike for a month. At least if I get chopped, I will get 90 weeks pay.

Severance would be ideal because then when you clock out you won’t remember what you did all day until tomorrow when you clock in. This is the Jack Welch Mckinsey dream we’ve all wanted
We value your feedback and you are heard. - ATT cares
I’ll take my severance in dogecoin please
Yeah they cleaned house in sales organizations before Christmas to meet end of year headcount numbers and dump salaries. Then proceeded to post the positions and hire external for a lot less.

Severance does exist if the company no longer requires your services (i.e. job elimination) ;however if you are let go due to cause you won’t get a severance of unemployment . Getting let go due cause is doing something that violates COBC and the hot one at the moment is not being RTO complaint
surplused without severance
That is called being fired. Someone is embellishing their situation if they said otherwise. It does not mean they did anything wrong but they are swinging the axe on anyone they can.
