Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Layoffs occuring this week

Two people were let go that I know of on the finance side and one on a health plan. Anyone else hearing about this? Are they keeping us quiet while they prepare for more?

They just posted positions for performance monitor specialists, clinical ! After laying off all those ppl as stated below ? I’m not clear as to why they do this- lay off ppl ten years or more , then repost their jobs paying the same hourly rate, if not more ! Most of these ppl had to work 5-10 years to earn what they are paying new ppl upon hire . Make it make sense

I'm going to lay off the next person that types the word "facts". And re-hire, just to fire, if you use all caps.

Ooohhh, aren't you the big, scary person!! That's a fact

Let's be real. Layoffs are real and ongoing. Good people are losing their jobs through no fault of their own as the company puts profits over people. Their own financial statements show 1bn in profits, yet it's a "tough" financial climate. How about giving up your 5-6 figure bonuses and keep loyal hardworking people employed.
Michael Neidorff would be appalled at what has become of his company and it's mission.
Don't assume you are safe as you are just another statistic for them to manipulate. Keep your resume fresh, develop contacts outside of the company and be prepared to jump into another company at any time. They have proven over and over again they don't care about you or your loyalty. Be loyal to your wallet and do what's best for you because when your statistical number is up you'll be out of a job and forgotten like yesterday's news.
Be strong , one day they'll be statically irrelevant and looking for work. As the saying goes, be careful who you step on while climbing the ladder as those will be the same people you will face on the way back down.
The love of money is the root of all evil, so by that standard the company should be considered evil. Sorry to see its leadership has chosen to go down that path.
Good luck to all newly unemployed, hopefully you will find a new beginning somewhere else soon.

Yes. There are more coming. These are facts. Yes I know. You don’t have to believe it - and nobody is going out themselves here just so you can get enough “facts” through your dense head.

Dense head? Maybe YOU should lose your job. Centene doesn't need people like you.

Check the FACTS - others are posting it is happening.

"Unless you KNOW there are more coming, then what's the point of guessing? So quit until you have FACTS"

Maybe if you get impacted by a layoff, you might have a bit of a sour take on it. & Check the FACTS - others are posting it is happening.

The LTSS team (Meridian/Illinois) had a brief, surprise meeting this AM and we were informed that 6 members of the TOC team will be layed-off on 2/7/25. They will be given severance packages, with no opportunity to apply for other positions. It was also implied that other lay-offs should be expected in the near future. Lots of anxiety.

"Workforce reduction" is happening as we speak. Performance Monitoring Specialists (under PHCO), consisted of 1 Manager, 2 Supervisors and 14 individual contributors. Today they were informed of a reduction and laid off the Manager, one of the Supervisors and 7 individual contributors. This came as a shock to everyone because they have been in high demand for the majority of 3 years, acquiring new business partners, being a crucial piece for the success of most recent CMS audit, and continously working to show their value. Unfortunately, their last day will be on 2/7 -right before annual increase discussions were set to take place. What a way to start the new year!

I was told by someone laid off today that they aren't even getting a severance package and was only given a month before being let go.

That’s only a few people out of the tens of thousands that work for Centene.

Medicaid was hit the biggest to my knowledge, also a small percentage from MMAI

Yeah, i wouldnt consider it fear mongering since its always a genuine concern. Companies cut costs all the time. And it is happening now. I hope people post about it so we have an idea of how widespread it is.

Two on HPs and Two in finance is all I know so far.

Tried to warn folks here but a bunch of id--ts kept saying “stop fear mongering!!”

Tell that to those losing their jobs this week and next.
