Managers Acting Squirrely

Does anyone else feel like their manager is acting different all the sudden? Like they used to be fine but are now micromanaging, picking apart everything you do, piling on more work and then asking when it will all be done shortly after? Is this how they’re told to treat people before they get “made redundant?” Or what they do to try to make us just quit?

Emails came out on the last Tuesday of January for the last few years. We will just have to wait and see. It is what it is.

GLs 100% know before hand that it’s coming as it's them who gather and deliver the stats for the agents to the Directors, one thing we notice in our dept is that GLs generally take PTO at the time when the emails are sent.

As a team leader I can tell you that we know f all
We get word 5 minutes before you
My good friend is my group leader and he gets told 5 mins before me
It’s been like that over the last 3
No one knows any thing. Simple.
Directors know 100% at least 3 months before hand.
Up da town

Yes! I was just talking about this recently with my spouse. We have officially moved out of the 'one team' mentality into a 'every person for themself' environment.

Managers are just as worried about their own jobs, and the same with directors +. It breeds micromanaging so that everyone looks good on paper even though there will inevitably be more “underperformers” this year. Meta just announced reducing their headcount by 5% starting next month on the basis of underperformance. Once one tech company announces reduction, the past few years prove that it’ll be widespread.

Good luck.
