Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Office of Excellence and Transformation (XT)

This new organization was announced today. Does anyone know what this group is actually supposed to do? The announcement was a master class in corporate-speak that says nothing.

The name literally sounds like something from 1984, Office Space, or Severance. And it’s headed by David Brailer who, as far as I can tell, hasn’t done anything in the 2+ years he’s been at Cigna. Rewarding excellence once again!

The nature and extent of continuous improvement, excellence and transformation is the requirement and responsibility of individual persons - and does not require unnecessary organization and practice of gold plating…

IFP will be sold next so there will be no government business soon enough. In the meantime, DeRosa can go be a clueless, condescending, sycophant somewhere else. At least now he's running a fake department with no people so he won't be able to do much damage.

The longer I read it the more I started to feel cold inside because I thought how dystopian it is that these are the people who control the fate of thousands of peoples health, wallets, and futures. This is their response. This is real life everyone. I sat back and was just stunned for a bit, then I thought. These are the people who can destroy your life so I should stop thinking and get back to work like they’d want me to. Get ready for the Excellence and Transformation. If it anything like the transformation drive to 2025 brought….yikes.

A co-worker and I read this together going paragraph by paragraph to try to understand it. In the end, we decided this was just an obligatory "everyone was notified" message. It was as if someone asked AI to generate an example of non-descript corporate speak words and stick them into paragraphs. If anyone actually was able to translate that cr-p or knows what it's really about, please do share.

Sounds like a department focused on AI and job elimination to me.

Exactly!!!
Here is AI version of the definition
An "Office of Excellence and Transformation" is a department within an organization dedicated to driving continuous improvement and significant change across all aspects of the business, aiming to achieve operational excellence by streamlining processes, optimizing efficiency, and fostering a culture of innovation and adaptation to achieve better overall performance.

Only memo I want to read from Cordani is his resignation, or an appeal of RTO with a mea culpa.

Nothing else that man says or does has any significance or value. Just go back to counting your money, David.

Spare us the corporate-babble.

“It is an org created so Chris Derosa has somewhere “important” to go.”

After he drove the National Accounts, Medicare and IFP business into the ground. He’s a pretty toxic “leader.”

It sounds like it’s a way to pretend we’re doing something to make people hate insurance companies less. It’s insane that it took a shooting to get people’s attention.

But it’s probably all just bs and it will focus on finding more costs (i.e. people) to cut. You know, “excellence.”
