So much money dumped into the deal, by both parties, I imagine a break up this late in the game would be legally and financially disastrous.

Curious where you heard that, but interesting to say the least.

I heard HCSC is finding out the legality of backing completely out of the deal. With how things are moving and uncertain, I don’t think MA is going to ever be profitable. I think this government administration is going to crack down on how much Medicare covers and how it’s billed. HCSC knows this will be a loss at this point and too much about Cigna has been exposed. Not to mention what were the audit results?

Q: "Do you think that HCSC will do a massive layoff sometime in 2025 of MA employees?"
A: 100% YES! The MA market is not as profitable as before, and the overall health insurance industry as whole (commercial and pharmacy) will shrink due to the upcoming changes to the economy. Things are not going so well right now and this is the start of things getting worse. Sorry, but the truth hurts.

HCSC was never excited about the employees. They just needed people to not leave en masse before the deal closed. This deal was always about 5-10 people between the two companies making a lot of money. That's it.

Completely agree with the previous comment and what Cigna and HCSC are doing to the employees is sickening. I had really hoped this sale would be a somewhat good thing, but at the end of the day, it’s not. They are just stringing us along with no end in sight. We are all nothing more than a number. Tried to hang in there, but I will find something else. Away from both of these companies.

it's definitely starting to feel that way. and a lot of us made benefits decisions based on a jan transition date bc that's all we had to go on. also the longer it takes the less pto we get at HCSC and more likely we will be using those unpaid PTO days from Cigna...overall, very frustrating.

Anyone else get the feeling the longer this thing drags on, the less likely the sale of MA to HCSC is to happen?

@1vc+1jhyb33ke

What tightly run project are you talking about? Cornerstone? The disorganized mess that was already 4 years deep and delivered almost nothing?

Sure, DMOM tacked on more scope and 2 more years, but Cornerstone was already a garbage program ran by weak talent.

MA Ops leaders must have gotten a huge bonus. They were so set on deploying DMOM by 1/1 that they went live with so many defects that they are still having issues a month later. Insanity.

I wounder if HCSC knows Cigna MA is so deteriorated from what it used to be, that's it's metaphorically held together by duct tape.

Earnings call said all that is left is one state approval. So could be any day.

So is this thing happening or what?

DMOM is the reason a tightly run project went over budget and delayed. DMOM was not in the original scope of the project, then they come in asking for all sorts of things causing a domino affect messing things up. Project became delayed and over budget and of course, they blamed the wrong people for this. Cigna Medicare executive leadership all needs to be axed when coming in to HCSC. They don't understand how their poor decisions can cause issues down the line. I don't blame HCSC for trying to back out of this deal, this is a huge cluster, you have a long list of poor leaders and decisions making what should be a great service/product a POS! Cigna Medicare is turning into the Chrysler/Stellantis of the health insurance industry.

DMOM is on fire and is probably part of the hold up - doubt HCSC wants to take a mess

How low is your compensation

by

Post ID: @1fs+1jhyb33ke

Except the compensation is lower across the board. No LTI, less PTO, less 401k match. Plus the benefits are cr-ppier and more expensive. These things alone make this deal trash. It's a slap in the face to everyone going over there and makes it clear that on day 366 there will be massive layoffs.

This is the most bitter sweet thing in my career. I am bitter and upset that Cigna gave up on us. I chose to work for Cigna, not HCSC! We used to be a good team, but we had poor leadership that made poor decisions leading to our sale. If we would have had better leadership, I bet Cigna would not have sold us off. This is also kinda sweet and I am optimistic of this change. Cigna's culture has changed for the worse and it's not the same company was was hired into. Cigna is a shell of it's former self and leaving to HCSC is a fresh start.

Probably and we just found out this afternoon during a transition call that we will get 0 advanced notice! We will find out shortly after Cigna issues a public press release and the move to hcsc is that same day.

If you end up with an HCSC leader you’re in good hands.

DMOM is a dumpster fire. HCSC bought a dud unless they get rid of all the useless leadership dead weight we’re dragging behind us.

There is no way all the dmom problems get fixed before the hcsc move.

"What office/leaders holds the most talent in MA?" It's hard to say when talent keeps leaving Cigna MA.

Was there any talent in Sales?

LTI is gone. Don't expect many leaders to stick around long at all (not that they are any good). HCSC is clueless and unprepared for Cigna MA. It's going to get even worse than it is now before it gets better.

Post ID: @hb+1jhyb33ke

Same ops and DMOM leaders are going to HCSC, so hopefully it won't take long for for HCSC to realize they don't know what they are doing. I just hope they aren't able to fix all of the issues in time so HCSC can see how inept they really are.

Feeling better in a different environment and making less money and having worse benefits than Cigna, who had c*ap benefits to begin with doesn’t sound like a plus to me. I’m willing to wait it out and see because I am good at my job and comfortable but my resume is ready.

Post ID: @c5+1jhyb33ke

I hope so! I keep hearing different dates. I have mixed feelings about it. I am happy to leave Cigna as the culture has changed for the worse. I feel like we are going to a better "work culture" at HCSC, but with slightly worse benefits.
