Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Ummm

So if I got laid off in April 2023; why did I get a W-2 for 2024 saying I earned 115 dollars during the 2024 year?

I was laid off in April 23 too. I randomly received a paystub earlier this. I'm assuming they didn't pull us out of the DRP rewards system and our cards were loaded for some contest. I never received unemployment since I had a job lined up.

I got that W2 also. I quit in early 2023. I did not get unemployment, so it can’t be that reason.

Unemployment is taxable, that’s my point! But, they don’t withhold taxes! So, people sit around and collect unemployment and than whamo….get a big tax bill they can’t pay! Best thing is to just get a new job! Period!

Unemployment is taxable under Federal Law.

If you worked the last two weeks or last week of December the prior year, one week, at least, would be paid to you in January of the new year.

You also haven’t paid any taxes if you collected unemployment! People are in for a surprise! Good luck clearing that up with HR, language barriers!!
