Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Move to Dallas

The purge is coming. Folks not in one of the 4 hub cities will receive letters in February requesting response as to accepting move to Dallas or not. If yes, followup communication will indicate when expected to report to new location, likely end of year if capacity will support it, if no followup will indicate termination date in 2, 3 or 4th quarter after which you will get severance if eligible.

2025 is when Stank said all of this return to office /consolidation cr-p would be completed. He wasn’t kidding.

The part he didn’t say out loud was not all hubs would be in play for your org. Seems he’s decided it’s ATL or DLS and that’s it.

OSHA complaint was filed in IL about RTO. No space available, people sitting on the floor working. No thought involved in the mandate, just a lie about "collaboration". This is the same company the jumped on the covid vaccine mandate. There are a lot of bad decisions being made at T.

It's mostly age-based, if you hit the rule of 75 and you're over 50, you have a 90%+ chance of getting let go

Anyone else hoping to be included? Most of us just want a severance offer.

Eh, maybe. I already know people who were given a move-by date in Q1-Q2, and it's now been delayed until the end of the year. They can continue in their non-hub city until then.

“In reality, there is only 1 hub . . . Dallas.”

In reality Dallas is full and your employer cannot force you to move to another state where they can’t give you a place to work. It’s a forced dismissal which gives you legal ground to contest the move. Loser!

Constructive Dismissal:
If the new location makes it impossible for you to perform your job duties effectively (due to lack of necessary resources or infrastructure), you may have grounds to argue that your employer is forcing you to resign, which could be considered a constructive dismissal giving you legal grounds to contest the move.

Seek Legal Advice:
If you believe the relocation is unreasonable or discriminatory, consult with an employment lawyer to understand your rights and options

So nice to be in a field ops team. No forced moves and no managed minimum days/hours in office.

Ask them how they intent to move you to two offices that have drastically exceeded their capacity….

Put their feet to the fire!

They cannot move your job to a place where there is no capacity for you,
