Most companies have a senior and a lead . What is Senior Lead ? Is it a management position or a lead position ?

...it is the last stop before layoff. JP is dropping 7%. WFB is next as don't you know......nothing happens at JP that doesn't come to WFB.
Sorry honey senior lead control management starts at 160k at least
For reference, Lead Control Management Officer - 133.5k base.
Senior lead here in uptown CLT making 151 base. I know leads from consulting brought in at 145. Seniors with no lead usually around 110 to 120.
They are definitely making at least that much more
Lead Control Management Officer
Senior Lead Control Management Officer
Both of these roles report to Control Management Senior Managers or Control Directors.
I am a Lead Control Management Officer on a team mixed of Leads and Senior Leads. Next to zero differentiation between the two, and I often direct the work of some incompetent Seniors on my team. It's like job title doesn't even exist. I don't even want to know how much more they make than I do. It would probably be extremely disheartening to know someone made 20-30k more for me to be mentoring them.
It’s a level above the Lead in that job family/title. In many cases it would be a Principal position. As far as I know it’s an IC, not manager.
@fty+1jj7vpqj We might be on the same team!
On our team one of the Sr Leads recently went to HR about all the “manager” work we do and hand off, without the manager even ever interacting with their staff.
We’re all excited to see how this plays out. I don’t think the ghost with the manager title will be though.
A senior lead is a title created so they could pay you an officer salary for doing the job of a senior officer. Money saved can be "invested" in stock buybacks and Chucks retirement plan.
I was technology stooge 5. I am senior now. Technology stooge 6 was mapped to lead.
It my group it’s the people who kissed the most a-s
Sounds like you have a pretty lazy manager, too. I solved that problem by spending days with the helpdesk and opening trouble tickets. If you have a lazy manager and you don’t want a horrible review, create a paper trail of issues. Paper trails can’t be disputed.
The difference between senior and lead was to differentiate between technology stooge 4 and the higher level of technology stooge 5.
BTW, the company now hides the pay differentials between roles. So, you really don’t have any idea how much more the technology stooge 5 role pays than the 4.
If it reports to a sh---y manager, like I do (am Sr Lead role), then you get to do your own job and most of theirs. No manager “power” but all the manager work. Write the reviews - send to manage to copy/paste in Workday. Have the 1:1s, forward notes to manager at end of month.
This is in addition to the day-to-day job you also have. You’ll also get all the escalations that go to sh---y manager to solve.
Good luck.
The hierarchy above non-management Senior Lead Officer is Senior Lead Expert Officer, then Expert Senior Lead Officer, followed by Senior Lead Officer Director, Lead Senior Officer Director, and finally Principal Senior Lead Officer. Very, very intuitive.
It's senior to a lead. It's like saying 2 is greater than 1. Amazing this is tough to solve. If the position is a manager, it would say so. There are individual contributor titles and manager titles
It is a person with manager responsibilities who is paid as a senior, obviously.
