Heard rumors of a mid-year date for MGO to afford time for building/space improvements so today’s announcement was yet another disappointing fail in an RTO fiasco I didn’t think could get worse. Sending sympathy to my fellow supercommuters.

Show up to work as required or don’t.
The choice is yours.
It will all work itself out.
“ You all had to know this was coming. None of this should be surprising at this point in time. None of it.
No one is special. No one gets a pass. The bell tolls for all.”
Of course it was known. The timing we were told before the holiday was between March and June because they wanted the offices to be configured properly.
When people have two weeks instead of a couple of months to change childcare
arrangements etc. (there a LOT of people in MGO with young kids) it yet again shows the primary mantra of this company. We. Don’t. Care.

I don’t buy anything I hear at this point. 2 week notices are insane for this level of uprooting people’s lives.
I’m being 100% serious. If I walked around an entire ATT office and there was no place to sit, I might lose my sh-t.
That is NOT OK
In Atlanta, all they are doing is shoving more people per floor. Adding more desks to an open office. Sadly parking is limited and there are lines for the bathroom, coffee, microwave. Lots of people don’t even have a place to sit.
I spent years and years and YEARS commuting to an office in my non-hub location - no issues, that’s what I signed up for - but am now being forced to move to a hub so I can commute to said office hence the “supercommuter” reference. Understand there are people in unfortunate positions trying to make an impossible situation work so don’t minimize the complaints. Congrats for doing your time in the Townes org but enough with the t-t for tat. Get some perspective.
“If you made it this far with either 3 days or still WFH understand if may su-k having to do 5X8 but some of us have been doing it for a year and a half. Thanks to Mr. Townes.”
The only people this doesn’t su-k for are the geniuses who are pushing it on everyone.
Good. Everyone else already been back starting 1/3. Why would you get more time.
There are many of us that have been WFH at a minimum 15 years that due to contractual obligations must be available 24X7 365 (expectation PTO/Sick time). We have been 5 days since the summer of 2023. If you made it this far with either 3 days or still WFH understand if may su-k having to do 5X8 but some of us have been doing it for a year and a half. Thanks to Mr. Townes.
Ok so it’s not assigned seats but we have to have enough seats so the natural progression over time is people will sit in the same spot everyday once the dust settles. I heard they are reopening entire floors in the near future. Pretty sure there’s more than enough seating everywhere but Dallas/Atlanta?

I don’t know maybe so it’s slightly less of a debacle. MGO at least makes an effort to appear like they give a sh_t about people even though the outcome doesn’t change.

Kellyn will probably say this is to allow us to do the best work of our careers like she did at a multimillion dollar dog and pony show last year in Dallas. Of course she talked about doing our best work a few weeks after getting rid of a bunch of people.
With the way she spins everything, she would probably call the fires in CA a good excuse for renovating your house.
All locations except Atlanta have to go back 5 days as of 2/3. We were told it would not be that soon because they wanted to make sure the space situation was better but I guess Stankey pushed them. No assigned seats like they spoke about, improvements coming but who knows, just the usual junk. Shoving changes in with little notice is also a tradition in this group. There have been a number of initiatives rammed through with little thought that have messed up work. This is just the latest.
They justified this idiocy by saying the collaboration to produce their beloved blueprint justified having us come in to sit on teams calls 5 days a week. Everything they cite as positive has been done while remote or hybrid (purpose, blueprint, guarantee) so our reward is doing things the old d-mb ways.
We are slowly starting to see people leave. I think it will pick up and I can’t wait to be one of them.
