I was moved from HH to more the back end in another dept but I still kept in contact with some of my old team mates and I’m hovering over their name in teams chat and it won’t display the last time they logged in or show the organization map. It feels so dystopian. My heart goes out to all those who have been impacted today . My manger has been acting a little off this whole week but since our department was not the chopping block yet of course we’re not told anything. I don’t think upper management knows even though most of us are remote we have formed connections with those we work with even if we move to different departments or teams and those little interactions have helped me tremendously when I have a hard day. I know a father to two beautiful children lost his income today. And a single mother with a special needs child’s is out of work. I don’t want to list their names but if they do happen to see this please know I am praying for you and I wish you all the best I hope you’re able to find a better job you love that actually values you and gives you what you need to support and provide for your family.

Are HH people not getting severance? I’d assume not since you have advanced notice, but I’m not sure.
Severance depends on salary grade and how many years you’ve been with the company. Yes to up to 40 hours of PTO.
Rumour has it the PSCs got 5 weeks severance and the managers 6… also got to cash out up to 40 hrs PTO.
So they acquired Navihealth just to be scrapped by 2026? I have not heard this rumor. But better be prepared since they are doing a lot of RIF with majority being Navi/home and community this January 2025. We need to find a reliable source!!!!
I have heard rumors that Home and Community Care will be shut down by 2026. HH, PSC and SICCs were affected this round it seems. Anyone know more? I don’t think ADC had impacts yet for this year. But should we all be looking if they will slowly cut Home and Community throughout the year? Or is that just another rumor going around?
Will there be any more lay-offs? Particularly for Pre-service (PSC) division of Home & Community (formerly Navihealth)?
Their turnover has been at an all time high thanks to their director. They're understaffed and burnt out.
Was A&D affected at all? I haven’t heard anything about that dept.
I left on my own accord a few months ago because I know I couldn’t handle staying here until I was cut. We need to not feel numb about what we all know in our gut to be so wrong. The HH department was NEW, new employees, hopeful and helpful- all of us left previous jobs hoping for a better job just to get RIF’ed. Sickening. I hope we all wisen up and tell everyone that this is NOT okay. Call anyone and everyone, tell them you are not disposable. We need to demand better for ourselves and for others.
To "Stay positive," Post ID: @ac+1jjacmtm1, do you use AI to write your drivel? Of course it's tough when coworkers are laid off. What "broader direction from upper management" do you speak of? We're nothing more than numbers on a spreadsheet. Wake up.
Optum got what they wanted. Your decision making skills in their AI algorithm. UM may be 100 percent AI for first reviews and no need for a review by a clinician till the denial case is infront of a judge. Hope you all get patient facing jobs providing skilled care as there is a shortage everywhere. Also get a taste of your approvals too...2 to 6 visits at a time. What a joke. It's like we destroy our own professions. Good luck .....seriously....we need it as a nation and please write to your representative to ban corps offshoring jobs. If you do business here you hire local...period.

I understand how difficult this situation is for everyone affected by the recent changes. It’s always tough when unexpected shifts impact colleagues and their families. While it’s not always clear who is making these decisions, it’s possible that the broader direction from upper management has led to these layoffs, and it’s always hard to understand the full scope of those decisions.
Many of us have built strong connections with our teams, and that human element makes moments like this even more challenging. It’s clear that your compassion for your colleagues is genuine, and they are fortunate to have someone like you thinking of them during this time.
Sometimes, when one door closes, another opens. It might not be clear right now, but hopefully there will be new opportunities for those impacted to move forward in a better direction. There may be resources to help them through this toughes time.
Let’s keep supporting each other as best we can, and remember, even in difficult moments, better things can be just around the corner. And hey, if life gives you lemons, at least make sure they’re fabulous lemons.
I’m here to say that United Healthcare Insurance is 100% to blame for this. Let it be known this is on them, not Optum. They asked to have us create this home health division. So then people were pulled from other divisions that are still intact, people were hired from stable clinical jobs, with the expectation of an actual career. UHC decided that all of a sudden this year they just don’t want us anymore. Viola, hundreds of people now unemployed. Never forget who is to blame. Shame on you UHC.
Pre-Service was at least 1 Director, a dozen or so CTMs, and a dozen PSC. Central operations - 12 managers, entire HH department. Not sure about other depts but I heard every department was hit.
From what I see in teams they are not going to stay until 2/6 or 3/31 it looks like today was their last day. I move been typing in names of people I know in HH and half won’t populate in teams the other half are still there but it looks like they are in a meeting.
On the bright side TIM NOEL is now CEO of United Healthcare. So don’t worry guys they will not offshore the c suite level exces just Al us peasants
This is horrible. Are there employment benefits or package or access to internal positions to those this happened to? R they already out of work or do they have a few more days to at least look for more work?
