Ending 5G AirGig in New York

How many people will lose their jobs over this affordable internet debacle? And how is our cost structure so high that we can't deliver throttled wireless home internet for $20? It reminds me of when GM went bankrupt because their cost structure for union benefits was higher than the base cost of import cars.

We’ve got the new model where instead of selling a $500/month ASE circuit with a 2 year contract we’d rather sell a no contract $50/month uverse(to make it easy to flip back & forth with the cable company), and instead of paying 1 prem tech/wire tech $20 something an hour to install them we’re gonna pay 2 BFS techs $40 something an hour to install them. Sounds like a plan.

Yah, I'm a sales gal with more quota, a 10k base pay cut, and few widgets to sell.

I am so excited. It's going to be a great year. How's everyone else looking?

So... We're going to give up on serviced with small profits. Interesting move. How exactly does Stankey and his brain trust in the ivory tower think that T-Mobile beat us? By hiding extra fees and ripping people off to get extra money?

Probably no one. Looking at this from the sales side, most divisions were getting strong messaging starting a year or so ago the company is focusing on profitable services, rather than just trying to win or offer every widget they can. There has been a lot of business we have walked away from trying to win this past year due to that underlying theme. These connections can drain the network, there is only so much capacity available on the mobile side. We don’t need to blow through a lot of resources for barely break even revenues. Locally this probably hurts some numbers and reporting, but overall this could be a better outcome for survivability as this ship just barely tries to keep from sinking.
