Given the choice to RTO to Charlotte uptown or CIC, which is the better option? Both have open seating but which is easiest to get to once inside the building? Are all areas open seating? No one from team is in the area so will be basically just want to find a random place to sit each day without a lot of effort to locate a seat. CIC seems the better choice but am I missing something?

CIC has paid parking. Uptown doesn’t and it’s $$$
I've worked at both. CIC is definitely the better environment and has better parking options. As someone else said if you care about rubbing shoulders with higher ups then uptown is for you just prepare for the traffic and paying for parking.
Who tf down voted free parking? Ha, what a tool. Shart, is that you drunk voting again?
WF shouldn't have any buildings with paid parking. It's complete nonsense.
Uptown if you're younger. You can socialize after work or meet people for lunch. CIC is full of people with families, trying to keep their heads down. It's more economical to work at CIC, since parking is free. Driving into work is also less of a hassle.
If you want to rub shoulders with the important people, defiantly work uptown.
$130 a month for parking in Charlotte is one of the better prices. I pay $200 to park at the garage that is connected to Wells 3. But thank goodness, leaving after bonus for remote role at another company. Paycut but finally out of here.
The length of your commute should be the determining factor, plus keep in mind parking uptown is about $130 a month once you can get a spot. The only pro uptown is you don’t have to badge out in 3 Wells and 550, but you may have to at Brevard.
Your commute must be the same! cries in south Charlotte hour long commute one way.
CIC gets my vote
Just coffee badge and go back home. RTO is pointless and those that support it are lonely, useless dinosaurs.
Widescreens downtown are a pain, especially w/o a fixed location. Reconfigure every day
The single widescreen monitor and cheaper seats are terrible

It is strange that the ultra secretive cabal running this place doesn't see any value in privacy.
Nice change of subject but 8 is great predates Wachovia
The start of the demise of WF is when they took over Wachovia.
The last thing I want is a "modern" WF office. The current design trends are horrible. Unless you actually like sitting in overly bright, sterile offices with an intentional lack of privacy and loud people blathering all around you. It's a lot like sitting in a school cafeteria. I can't even work in these stupid 'spaces'.
Much of CIC has been renovated (2nd floor near parking garage), as nice as any location in uptown. And yes, free parking and some other new stuff opening soon.
Some of the uptown buildings like Brevard (where alot of tech sits) are nicer/more modern then the CIC. I find the CIC tech area to be outdated (equipment is broken at many desks). However, parking is very expensive in uptown and in short supply which is a legitimate difference maker for many.
The CIC is also huge. Once you get in, you have to drive around 5-6 minutes, go up multiple elevators, just to get into the building. It is truly one large cube farm and there are a lot of empty desks.
So it comes to cost vs environment. I personally could care less about the " in office work experience" and would go to the CIC not to pay parking.
I would choose CIC because it has free parking.
