I was told if you are laid off in Q4, you are still eligible for bonus. Obviously many people are not in contact with their old managers (or their managers were laid off too). How and when do you find out if you got a bonus this year in this situation?

I was laid off 12/10/24 and I can see my bonus amount when I log into workday.
@a6+1jjwdwkwr - Bonuses paid to employees in the system on 12/31.
If you get laid off on 11/30, but still in the system as of 12/31. you get bonus.
If you are fired 12/30 or earlier, no bonus.
Bonuses are paid to people displaced provided they were employed on the eligibility date. Provided you are under the notice person or salary continuation period you will get it. It should state this is the displacement packet you received. I have had to displace people and they still received bonuses.
The rest of my old team found out their bonus amounts yesterday. I was told on 12/10 by my boss that he would be in contact in January to discuss my bonus, but I haven’t heard anything, and he is on PTO tomorrow…guess I was a little too optimistic.
Bonus payout is 2/14/25. If your paycheck is higher you got it if not you didn’t.
I am hoping my former manager is truly a nice guy and I receive a bonus. What he gave me for mid-year and EOY reviews certainly support receiving one. And I was there nearly the full year.
Highly unlikely bonuses go to those laid off
Duh.
I quit and HR said to ask your manager. Never heard from them after asking.
I don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to contact HR if you are getting severance pay.
General PSA (not just for OP):
Highly unlikely bonuses go to those laid off. While bonuses are technically a reward for “last year”, practically they are an incentive for “this year”.
Maybe you have something legal that gives you a bonus. Otherwise if it is manager descretion, don’t count on it.
