RTO is not going to go away. If anything it is expanding over corporate and government entities. I personally have no issue with it and fail to understand why my fellow employees on this site are STILL complaining. No one is complaining in my office about it like on here. RTO is here to stay.

Stifle yourself there d1ngb@t.
I was talking about this today with a coworker. Yes, it is the it was. For AT&T and me, that was a long time ago. I've worked remote for a long time.
Here's the issue. Transparency. They say it is for "collaboration" and teams "working face to face", and then send team members at offices that were closing on the same team to different hubs. There is the issue with not enough desks. There is the mandate for people with no one to collaborate with. There are a lot of issues with our RTO where the "message" isn't supported by the "actions".
So, RTO isn't going away, and either is the complaining. Deal with it.
They are lying. That is the issue. I'm spending $400 a month now to commute, plus 3 hours a day, and for what? To work with and collaborate with no one. The office is noisy. Back in the full-time office days (early 2000's) with cubicles, I don't remember it ever being nearly as noisy as it is now.
What does RTO have to do with the following:
Being married
Having children
Having an assigned desk
Paying for parking
Having a new or used car
Etc.
None of these items were used to determine if you could do the job or not. None of these items mattered until we had the C. Virus. We do not have it now. If you have long Covid it is no more than a cold now. You can RTO with a cold and a mask.
You wanted the job now RTO.
If you don’t leave. Stop complaining please.
Would the OP have a problem with it if they had to move out of state on their own dime to RTO otherwise lose their job????
“I personally have no issue with it and fail to understand why my fellow employees on this site are STILL complaining.”
What an A1 Dik. Must not have a wife and kids at home while you waste 2.5 hours a day commuting back and forth. Must not have a nice car and like hitting that 100 thousand mile mark in a few years. Must not have had your job moved to another state. I don’t wanna hear nothin from you.
The one word subject line would suggest these are bot posts. Probably Dallas had TechM cobble together something to do some consensus cracking. Could be a PR firm but it is awfully sloppy for that. Could also just be the site stirring up engagement for clicks.
John/OP,
You must have a permanent desk and you don’t have to HUNT for a desk daily.
Clearly, you do not understand that this is NOT the case with the majority of people that are having to RTO.
Are you PAYING $$$$$ for a parking spot now monthly as well ?
Are you sitting elbow to elbow with people that have NOTHING to do with your organization and your day to day job or the customers you support ?
Do you come into the office to get on the EXACT same Teams calls that you were on during WFH? Because the majority of your work peers are still across the country?
Take a seat OP.
Studies show that over 70% of US employers STILL operate on a “hybrid” mode; as most employees prefer a hybrid work arrangement, citing the benefits of flexibility and work-life balance.
It's just the weird cache clearing guy.
Ignore him.
Are you f--king stoopid? I can't concentrate here with people on teams all day. I barely did any of my work which requires concentration and analytical thinking. You cant do that when someones talking loud surrounding you.
Take a flying leap you BS’in st00ge.
Op is clearly simple minded and unable to understand the nuances of the topic. True few are complaining about working at an office. The complaints are: 1) the company is not providing an office environment but rather a high school cafeteria environment. 2) The locations of the offices people are being told to repot to are, in some cases, hundreds of miles away. 3) the conditions at some of these offices are quite poor. People are faced with broken and missing equipment. Poor bandwidth dirty conditions.
Honestly, if you can’t understand these complaints at this point you are a f00l. If you are just maliciously misrepresenting people’s arguments you are evil.
John, don't you have a golf event where you need to go network with your fellow oligarchs? Maybe a baby seal to club or puppies to put down? No one is fooled by your little staff shills posting pro-RTO hot garbage.
Who cares how you feel about what people post? Have you been appointed to the Internet Police Force? Literally no one is going to change as a result of your impotent whining.
Live with it, post high-quality content of your own, or don't let the door hit ya where the lord split ya.
The lack of brain cells in our leadership.
Apparently the OP thinks our leadership has brain cells.
OP
Do you wear noise cancelling headphones all day?
I hear only 2 things in the office daily.
- How much RTO is a PITA
- The lack of brain cells in our leadership.
That is all the “collaboration” I hear throughout the office.
OP must not be in an over packed hub location where you Are packed in tightly and a table space and parking are hard to come by after 8:30. Must not be micro managed either by badge swipes, LAN trigulation, and keystroke monitoring
It isn’t the f’ing RTO, it’s the damnable locations were are being dictated to go to. Some more than 200 miles away.
