Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

No one on my team is in my office so I sit on Teams. Except one day when I went into the break room and someone started talking to me. Had a 15 minute conversation and then my boss commented that I wasn’t there when he tried to reach me. Gotta love the support.

While you're wasting time getting ready, driving, finding a parking spot, walking to the building, navigating cube he-l, getting distracted by random employees, walking a couple hundred feet to the nearest restroom, and doing all the other cr-p involved with being in office, I've been actually working. You're also wasting company resources, power, water, property tax, landscaping, janitorial, remodeling, and all the rest of it. Highly likely you bring net negative value to the org. Either way, no one cares how you "work", so why do you care so much how others do?

Every time I go to the office, I end up spending a lot of time having a water cooler conversation. We talk about football games, basketball games, where we went last weekend, what our politicians are doing, the morning traffic was bad, when is the next layoff, how many hours we have to stay in the office, etc. Essentially we spend hours for non-work related conversations every week. For some reason, I get a lot of distractions in the office. I don't know if that's just me, but I get a lot more stuff done working from home than working from office.

All my colleagues are located in different time zones, so driving to the office is a waste of time and gas. If you have no one to collaborate with, don't stay. There is no point.
