Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

TR Data Analyst Layoffs?

I was offered employment for a data analyst role based in the Ann Arbor office. I have seen a lot of yearly layoff talk. I anticipate this role would be extremely susceptible to that same fate? The role would focus on customers in the government space.

Take it unless you get a better offer. 9 months in, start looking, using your TR position to get a more lucrative role somewhere else.

The Ann Arbor office is kind of strange in that it’s a huge building but 100 people come on one busy day. Not sure how safe you are long term, but if you live in the A2 area it’s a solid place to work that isn’t the university or related to cars.

There are essentially no Government employees in this office so you’ll maybe be on an island as far as direct coworkers, but people are friendly enough. Good luck deciding!

If you have option to join elsewhere, I suggest not to take up this job in Thomson Reuters US which is considered highest cost centre and your job will be moved to low cost centre soon.

Run, don't walk away from TR if you have any option! They don't care about their employees and you won't have a very long life there. Sorry HR Ladies who monitor this page, but that is the truth. TR has layoffs several times through out the year.
