Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Tech and Ops 1/1 "celebration"

So we did amazing work, best 1/1 in forever, long hours and dedication...

But, we are still mandated into the office. Still under the ongoing threat of layoffs.
Noelle's verbal "thank you" means squat under those conditions.

I would call this a total waste, but it did provide some time to slack. I guess that's something.

This company su-ks ….system rejecting customer payments , poor diabetic customers being canceled and not knowing until they are at their doctor appointment. Nothing works right because family and friends made decisions without ever doing the processes. HCSC run the morale is terrible mgt lies and employees are underpaid and overworked. HCSC don’t do it. Your buying the biggest mistake of your life

What's the deal with the quotation marks around:

how these people gained employment

Are you certain that you were sober when you decided this would be an amazing contribution to the conversation?

Agreed! Let's begin with Cordani and work our way down.

Data on this site demonstrates unrealistic, negative and selfish expectations by some bad actors who are employed at cigna. It would be interesting to learn the circumstances, “ how these people gained employment “ and who hired them…

I always hear "we couldn't have done it without you!".

I guess someone hears that says "challenge accepted!" and lays off more people.

You folks are seriously posting if Noelle "no one cares, work harder" Eder was genuine? She was not.

Because there is more profitability to be had with each additional layoff. Enough is never enough for the greedy ba----ds at the top of the heap.

If the economy is doing well then why so many layoffs. Or to mention the cost of living is much higher, and the job market is at an all time low. Companies are not seriously hiring , they just repost the same position for years.
And being mandated to rto to do video calls w team mates far away makes no sense. Rto is just a way to force people to leave.

Bitter and resentful, he-l yeah. I take it as a badge of honor and chuckle to myself with every delay, every flawed work product, every miscommunication.

Forced into an office to work by myself, adding uncompensated expenses, time, and hassle, to hop on WebEx. Why wouldn't that be a super happy situation?

Post ID: @ef+1jk8vjkbc

We shall see. I'm confident that there will be hard times getting things done for a while, especially since documentation will be worse than useless

But hey, you know the ins and outs of the situation better than I do. Maybe you can volunteer your expertise to cleaning things up?

Such a bitter and resentful person you must be. Resign when it leaves your department high and dry? Here’s the deal, you are replaceable, merely a hiccup for any department that you might be a part of. please don’t think you’re that important. Everyone is replaceable.

"Additionally, I will resign my at a time that leaves my department high and dry. That time is not today."

So keep being miserable instead of taking initiative and changing your situation to a more positive one. Couldn't be me

@bk+1jk8vjkbc

Because those are not "tips" in any meaningful way. Duh, I can really brush up my resume and work on finding a new job? What a zero-value contribution.

Additionally, I will resign my at a time that leaves my department high and dry. That time is not today.

I hope this clears up any confusion you may be experiencing.

"Economy has tanked the past 3 years" WHAT?

2020: GDP growth rate was -2.768%
2021: GDP growth rate was 5.945%
2022: GDP growth rate was 1.94%
2023: GDP growth rate was 2.54%
2024: GDP growth rate was 2.8%

Economy has tanked the past 3 years. Let’s hope things pick up in a year.

"Once economy picks up" Looks like that won't happen soon. With tariffs and our federal government under attack, the only thing we can count on is the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

Have you been in the job market lately? It’s terrible out there. Better to hold on to a sh---y job than have nothing at all. Once economy picks up, people will leave for better opportunities

Why do people constantly complain on this site, but then whenever someone gives tips on how to get out of the situation it's "Thanks for the insight but I'm fine. I'll leave on my own terms when I'm good and ready." Your jobs must not be THAT bad then

by
|
Post ID: @bk+1jk8vjkbc

Thanks for the insight but I'm fine. I'll leave on my own terms when I'm good and ready. Not on your timeline.

And no, I don't give a sh-t about meaningless, performative garbage. The best way to show appreciation is with deeds. Talk is cheap. Right up cigna's alley!

Sounds like someone on our technology team is disgruntled? You know, you have options? You can brush up your resume and work on finding a new job. If the leadership team didn’t say thank you, you’d complain. They say thank you and you complain. There is no win. We are all working harder than ever before. We didn’t make the decisions that got us to this position. But instead of complaining about what you can’t control take advantage of what you can. Find a new job.

Oh it's such a super feeling -

"Great job everyone!"

"Can we get the free coffee back in the office?"

"LOL no. You can buy coffee in the cafe"

"Well, the toilet paper is super narrow, thin, and rough. Pretty much the worst you could provide. Can we get an upgrade?"

"LOL no. No budget. Find a way to deal with it but thanks again. We really appreciate your dedication and hard work"

Has that been finalized? I'm too far down the chain to get important info in advance.

Thanks for the advice but I'll pass. You are free to take a deep breath, should you feel it appropriate.

What? I was worried that the policy had changed for ops, that's why I asked. Try to take a deep breath :)

Well if the post mentions two teams, and one of them is apparently working remote, it should not be too difficult to figure out who is not.

Here is a free tip to get you started: Tech is still in-office.

I hope this is clear enough to avoid further confusion.

by

Post ID: @a5+1jk8vjkbc

Huh, this post specifically mentions only two teams, one of which is ops and says "we are still mandated into the office" so I was confused.

Ops may be, not sure. But others have not received that benevolence.
