Anyone else hear that message in the JS earnings call?

They plan to force movement of all satellite (remote) employees and, if they do not, they will be terminated without severance. Does not matter if you were hired for a state in which you live and have held that position for over 10 years; you will be fired if you do not move to a “hub” location.
My middle management team of 15 just cut to 8. Bloodbath in HR. Directors were cut at 75%.
your favorite football team sucks
2023 goal: get laid w/5+5
Why is anyone surprised. We lost BILLIONS on trying to be a CATV company by purchasing Dish and Time Warner instead of enhancing our network for the future. WTF made that decision? Had those billions been spent on enhancing our fiber overbuild and 5G we wouldn't be where we are. When the general public knows the future is all broadband and our leaders cannot, we pay the price.
Lay off those decision makers.
We have laid off over 110k people in less than 5 years.
Layoff list is due 01/10/23 to T management. Final date on payroll is 03/23/23. Letters to impacted employees goes out 30 days in advance.
Holding out for an offer equal to 2 years salary.
Perhaps the company will offer a VTP with a 2 + 2 incentive along with unneeded tracks of wilderness land previously used for long distance lines plus old trucks as kicker bonuses in order to entice old timers like me to retire. Dreams are free.
VP just announced force reduction in my org. Affected groups will receive interest in leaving letter for voluntary separation with benefits,
This is TOTAL BS since these kinds of letters rarely if ever go out to personnel! T is being very stealth about layoffs until it realizes the numbers of people leaving on their own by the end of November!

"VP ust announced force reduction in my org. Affected groups will receive interest in leaving letter for voluntary separation with benefits,"
I call straight up BS on this one!!!
VP ust announced force reduction in my org. Affected groups will receive interest in leaving letter for voluntary separation with benefits,
Everyone remembers this genius and greed.
60-year-old with “a guaranteed income of $274,000 a month for the rest of his days.” This is on top of his total last three years of an average $30 million compensation.

If AT&T offered an exceptionally good incentive package offer for retirement, many would highly consider taking the offer. Make it happen. I'm waiting.... to decide.
Wishful thinking…. There will be no offers, repeat NONE! Company will not waste money paying people to leave when they are achieving headcount numbers with natural attrition. There are no concerns at the C suite level with the amount of people leaving the business. The plan is working to drive 49K people out of the business by EOY 2023.
Dude, don’t be stupid all your miserable rumor mongering life! There will never be a 5 and 5 and $10k per year offer! You’re just wishful thinking out loud, we get it! Enough, already, that will never happen! This is the SBC culture and run by SBC personnel, not ATT. The ATT executives were far more compassionate and generous when reducing its head count!
Huge management layoff inevitable. Then craft layoff…and then comes the occupational offer. If Stanley wants to remain employed, he must cut overhead. Offer to craft is 5 years age and service + $10K per year of service. Book it.
Both town halls mentioned below are available for relay. Search this board for details about the Ace THall and where to fast forward to. After you listen to that discussion spend another 5 mins to listen to one of leaders who has been here speak about USH and goes on to say she has NEVER used it perhaps never knew it existed.
It is no secret. It was clearly stated in the Sambar town hall at the beginning of month. It was also stated a week or so earlier in a town hall that one of his direct reports hosted.
They clearly said targeted layoffciming 1Q2033
Keep in mind that everything you read here on a daily basis is nothing more than mere speculation at best. Posts are just what people think and not based on any factual information. Just thought I'd post this disclaimer!
As Stankey said during the quarterly results call, they purposely ran the fiber and 5G build hot in the 3rd quarter. Anyone who has seen the tremendous amount of work that goes away after that happens (throughout the food chain) knows that something will happen. Believe they stated the network would be 50% fiber by 2025. Sounds like they want to exceed that target.
Headcount is going down for US based employees but increasing for temp workers, US contractors and Indian contractors.
Yes, lay-offs will have to continue to help control costs to the business. Cost still outweigh revenue.
AT&T has been solid through many bad economies and will not falter one bit even if this one is as bad as the so called experts predict it will be! T will have solid numbers in the 4th quarter as well the 1st Q of 2023. Nothing to worry about with its performance!
"They definitively stated so at the last ACE (Sambar) Town Hall a few weeks ago."
Why the downvotes for this? It's 100% fact.
I'm not going anywhere, sticking around as long as I can because this economy is not a good one to be unemployed in! Everything is on the rise, energy, food and utilities! Even if you'd like to be laid off, count your blessings that you're still employed. Having to struggle with making ends meet is not pleasant especially when there is no relief in sight!
Look at another post. If 2nd qtr results are really so stellar then there will be no cuts. We need everybody to keep the momantum going. We will conquer the world!!!! Go team AT&T!!!!
They can cut 40k as they continue to automate. Then they will hire low pay sales people to sell fiber products. Wireless will go online and stores will be siphoned off so thaT owns nothing related to retail stores.
The company will do better but it look a lot different and with a lot less employees.
Last I heard in 2Q2022 our headcount was approximately 243K. With the spinoff of DTV and WM, the number is approximately 215K. 45% female, 58% white, 17% latino, 13% black. Cutting 20% would be about 43K. These cuts will be essential for at&t to survive.
Lol, they never keep the best people and get rid of the bad ones. As a matter of fact, it’s usually the exact opposite.
Yes there will be positions reduce and eliminated. But eventually new positions are created so that the best people are kept and the trash is sent packing.
I'm not even sure why this board is here anymore. There's always going to be layoffs and huge amounts of misinformation which is what this place is.
2022 was another 2021. 2023 will be another 2022. Check back in 2024.
They definitively stated so at the last ACE (Sambar) Town Hall a few weeks ago.
The company is currently at 169,900 employees! How is it possible that T can afford to lower that number by another 40k employees? That would be a monumental undertaking for those remaining employees having to pick up where those that are gone left off! Not gonna happen, you're dreaming! Perhaps, another 3-5k in areas of the business that are no longer sustainable, but that would be it!
Yes, yes, and yes. It's high time to rid ourselves of the parasites. Need to cut 40K now.
