Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Fork in the road email coming after RTO...

Elon has shown the way to Corpos , that the easiest way to shed undesirables is with a carrot of leave and get some money .. or wait and get some unemployment. I think T and other corporations looking to shed, will run the math on severance + early buyout or dismissal ... and will come up with a number that;s just a few dollars better than what the dismissal number would be.. Of course they can just begin shitcanning folks as usual, but it seems to me not having to pay unemployment is a preferred approach,..

AT&T doesn’t need to offer any buyouts at this point. They will only offer a buyout if you are required to move, like they did in 2023. They will force retire or fire you if you do not adhere to the new 5 days a week.

Elon is a piece of garbage.

I respected him with Tesla and Space X until he wouldn't even consider worker safety during COVID. To him, OSHA, the CPSC, the FTC are all annoyances. He'd obviously launch a manned space shot with zero for the occupants.

Sc--w him, he'll probably sell all of our identities to China. Because profits, right?

They have stated openly and repeatedly they will not pay anyone to leave any more.

I get that's what you're "hoping" for, and I agree it would be nice.

But it ain't happening.

Why are people still talking about RTO? Get over it. It is done. Get to work like the rest of us.

:Why do people keep posting irrelevant unrelated nonsense? This has nothing to do with AT&T"

AT&T has government contracts, so yes there could be an impact here.

Unemployment is not cheaper by any stretch than severance. And in some states if you get laid off / severance you can still apply for unemployment (local restrictions May apply not valid in Botswana)

So glad you do a lot of “thinking”.

While we’re on the topic of thinking, I think you’re just an uncaring sad sack that should be the first to be let go. No one wants to work with your kind.
