Over the course of 2-3 years, CB underwent an integration process with VMware that ultimately provided little value. Instead, it added complexity and led to a reduction in headcount. By the end of this period, Broadcom's acquisition of VMware resulted in all the integration efforts being dismantled. This effectively meant CB had wasted valuable time that could have been better spent on enhancing its platform and developing new features. To compound the situation, when vmware acquired CB, middle management was duplicated across multiple countries, further increasing the complexity and inefficiency of the process.
CarbonBlack is just trash that no company would buy.
What about Symantec??
CB was definitely a long time.
Once VMW took over however, it all started going down hill.
Kal De's tenure alone was a disaster.
CBS was legend? Are you kidding?
Symantec I cannot say.
CB, well we sat there discussing how we were all going to be laid off. For two years. (I exaggerate a bit here, but only a bit.)
Management was paralyzed as well, no real big initiatives during that time, while attrition took its toll.
No real mystery here. People were worried, everyone was phoning it in, and we fell behind.
