What will happen to all the Australians on the expat circuit? They seem to always hire their fellow Australians. Good old boy club that is next level.
Nobody cares.
Prepping the asset for sale and testing market. Aus production is equivalent to 2 net wells in Guyana (in terms of profit contribution). Plus XOM can get rid of a higher cost team. Unions in Australia drive up cost of wells and offshore development, so it is a high cost country and low in any exploration ranking. So outlook for more investment is poor. Move to PNG now if you want to sustain your employment
I don’t think anybody cares … Australia was long gone. It’s just about cleaning the remaining dirt bit by bit.
