Inconsistent

Who came up with these rankings? So meaningless. Yes I was ranked inconsistent, but so what. FoMoCo is really creating a BS environment.

Hello,
I got 2 inconsistent and 4 met for year 2024 performance. Overall met.
My supervisor never had much interaction with me throughout the year... but I think this job does not fit my personality anyway.

Do you guys know if this affects my chance to move to a job in another Department within the company?

"Have you declared yourself as part of one of the important minority groups?"

Depending on where you are, about 70%-80% of folks are still rated as consistent. Is that minority?

"No, free speech is very helpful. It will allows to see or find out
that what is happening to them personally is not an isolated event."

So what? How is that changing anything? How is that making OP's life better?

All I'm suggesting is that OP take meaningful actions in addition to venting, and that's for his best interest. Otherwise, he could possibly continue to be rated as inconsistent in the future until he is let go. Is that what you think he wants?

"Take it easy, mate. Yes, Ford's rating system is utterly flawed, but at the end of the day not everyone is rated inconsistent. You just have to find a way to beat the system."

Yup, are you kissing the right behind?

Others are experiencing this baloney as well. The company's most valuable asset
are the workers that can make something, not the 'goons' running the show who cannot and are living off of financial gimmicks.

Who came up with these rankings?

Probably the type of people who brought you “people leader” because they thought “manager” was s-xist.

Or the people who banned the use of “male” and “female” for connectors; and “master/slave” for electronic devices.

There is truly a high cost to political correctness.

(I have no opinion, I'm just replying to OP's question).

This method started in Silicon Valley many years ago. Ford welcomed this new process a couple of years ago when Ford hired Ms. Waldo.

FYI. This link may help navigate how to deal with this new process. Good luck to all. https://www.talentguard.com/resource/5-shades-of-grading-inconsistencies-in-performance-reviews-cause-turnover

"you really should just do the minimum."

I knew a couple guys who suggested the same to others. Ironically they themselves do way more than minimum. Their (evil?) intention is that such advice would be taken by others, so that they themselves would end up standing out as high/top achievers. I'm not saying you are one of those guys though.

My suggestion to OP is to find your own best strategy to avoid being rated as inconsistent in the future, whether it means truly working above and beyond or learning to lick more @sses and maneuver through the relationshios. After all, venting is mentally helpful but won't change the outcome.

It's all a giant scam. Regardless of performance, they have now built a no win performance system for the sole purpose of removing people. Personal objectives are meaningless. If the company does not meet their objectives, regardless of what you deliver, you fail. Then, if someone doesn't like anything you do, then they can just say inconsistent..againyou fail. Now add in the ridiculous 'behaviors' element that seemingly does not apply to senior management, they can ding you there because you didn't adequately pick someone's boots, you fail. So looking ahead to this year's headwinds, you really should just do the minimum because it is all pointless as the whole process is rigged against the employee.

"Who came up with these rankings?"

Your direct LL.

"I was ranked inconsistent, but so what."

So (1) you will get a lower percentage of bonus than others; (2) you salary increase will be impacted; (3) you have a slightly higher chance of being kicked out of the company than others.

I say "slightly" because technically no one is safe at Ford. I've seen top achievers being let go. I've seen a whole department being dismissed regardless of each individual's performance. But overall, lower performers are still more likely to be the target.

My best wishes to you.

it's for easy termination with less severance and legal liability
