Word is that layoffs are coming and if you got that email it’s Nikes way of tracking your assets before they lay you off. Otherwise a random audit… simply to confirm you’re still using your laptop is……odd?

I did get the email and am now at home reading separation papers :-(
This is a routine email - the CMDB Revolution is underway and ITAM team is struggling migrating ancient stuff with old asset tags. This isn't a targeted anything, just trying to ascertain what's actually still in existence and get a clear picture.
As someone who has several assets still assigned to me that I have DEFINITELY returned, I think this is just the assets team acknowledging that things are royally sc--wed up and they have no idea what is where.
Thank god I didn’t get it. I guess I’m safe!!!
Last time is snowed in Portland, we had layoffs about 4 months later. I’m nervous LT planned this snow to do layoffs later.
Got the email too, i think its nothing.
If you didn't get an email, that's a problem. Everyone around me got it.
If this was an effort to get assets under control, it would go out via a DL - not directly to a specific person. Emails were sent out directly to certain individuals.
I understand we're always scared of another round of layoff, but FFS chill. Our assets management is a mess and I'm pretty sure this is just a (long awaited) step towards getting a grip again. As a manager you end up with a bunch of unwanted assets in your lists that takes a while to clear out. It's ok, it's just hardware.
