Question about Cloud based AI

Apologies - not a layoff/RTO post but rather a company AI policy question.

Anyone ( especially developers who do CRUD work using public libraries, writing scripts and NOT those on teams working on proprietary Dell software ) face actions like being fired or given targeted warnings for using cloud based AI?

Cloud based AI in this context is Cursor, Windsurf , Cline, Cody, Claude API, GPT API, Gemini API. I'm not including Deepseek API because I don't think any cloud provider uses that one. They just host Deepseek R1-471B using fireworksAI or they host it themselves.

Also I know about the Dell codeium deal and that is a self hosted model that is still in its baby phase to be smart as Claude or even GPT for that matter. I've spent quite a few weeks on it and it's not very impressive. Maybe Dell could just self host Deepseek R1-471B ?

You should not do this. They are definitely monitoring what you ask external AI. Use the internal chat.dell.com instead. There are quite a few decent models that you can use there and they are hosted internally.

Posting or working on an outside AI with any company info, including what you are currently trying to code, is dangerous.
