DW vs NC vs JW

We all know DW and JW were appointed to XOM MC in 2014 at the same time. So obvs they were competitors for the top job which ultimately ended up going to DW.

Is it just me or do people notice that DW seems to value NCs opinion more than JWs ? It’s almost as if DW has sidelined JW, I don’t hear about him at ALL, where as NCs videos, pics and articles are all over the intranet. Has JW just retired in place ?

The corporate ladder has about 15 rungs in it and for the folks on the bottom two rungs, this post seems a little irrelevant

Why would DA be in the running after visibly demonstrating lack of strategic vision after multi billion $ Cruise debacle at GM from a safety, leadership culture and financial performance point of view?

Now with the DA wildcard…

All executives are great speakers to the public and at employee forums. However, behind closed doors they will cut you off at the knee caps if you are not delivering on your Global Business Unit deliverables for the year.

One famous quote from a retired President of Refining and Supply to his refinery managers was, "If you (i.e. refinery manager) cannot deliver on your annual metrics for the year, I will have you replaced by someone that can deliver on ALL metrics."

Bottom line, look beyond the smiles and see what is really the motivation behind our executives.

NC good speaker, although bit like a 2nd hand car salesman

I heard JW speak at a global Manufacturing meeting (2019?). Boring and uninspiring. I cannot even remember of what subjects he spoke. Snooze-fest.

Well. Realistically, one (NC) seems much more comfortable in front of a camera and speaking to large groups. That may be all it is….or not

He's going to be the new CEO of Imperial. What a great job and great company.
