Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

If you work anywhere or any time outside the office

Then you’re just wasting your time and will get no recognition for it. New PBI data report proves only time in the office is being accounted for, and that is all they care about.

You’re clowning yourself anytime you log in from home.

It looks like they don't care what you do for 8 hours in your RTO location just as long as you are there. Productivity = 0, Morale = 0, F`uck3 Given = 0, Paycheck Deposited = 100

It should tell you a lot that MANY of the reports being reviewed only care what you are doing Monday-Friday daytime hours.

I asked my supervisor, how do you account for the time I [need to] work from home to support off-hour releases (in addition to my 8 in the office). The answer is, you can’t. So I really think it’s time to pash back on out-of-hour support if all they want is 8-5 in the office. Then system maintenance and releases need to be done during 8-5!!! You can’t track us in the office for 8 hrs and then also expect we work at home. This is the stupid thing they can up with so far, and that’s saying a lot!!

"Track your own time via spreadsheet."

Bingo! That is how I have found many discrepencies. Also, send a few emails right when you are in the office, and as you shut down. Just a little material evidence to support your truth.

"Leaving your desktop at your desk goes against COBC."

That is incorrect. If you lock your laptop to a desk that is not shared then you are well within guidelines.

"Leaving your desktop at your desk goes against COBC."

Oh, STFU. Don't issue laptops for full time office based roles.

Whatever it takes to get the job done. But eight hours in the office is mandatory.

Then you’re a manager. You work until the job gets done.

The report is not perfect. It misses time in your first and last hour depending on when it pulls its data.

Likely why I heard they were using 6 hrs per day and not 8.

We did 8 hours in the office before....minimum. We can do it again. I loved working from home and the time that I got back in my life from not having the long commute during rush hour.

I do not understand why phone reps are hired to work from home though. Makes no sense.

I have days reported that show 15 minutes in office. I have a 3 hour round trip commute….garbage data. Clearly something is broken. Not to mention I am typically in office at 8 and presence shows 9:30 start. Time to start taking pictures and sending to my manager to confirm the reports are wrong.

I just leave my laptop at the desk at work. I’ll be back tomorrow, and it saves me a space too.

Good luck getting away with this. People already tried in NJ and came back to a missing laptop. Enjoy!

" How much does a stellar Presence Report contribute to those things? Almost never..."

Well, this is ridiculous. First, it's pretty new in its current iteration, so if nothing else your observation is extremely premature at best.

Second, they are clearly intending for this to be the starting point, for anything and everything. In other words, you're simply not going to be here at some point if this flawed report isn't showing compliance, let alone any of that connections award and promotion stuff.

EOY reviews guy, you think anyone cares about that? Nobody gets anything extra even when you go above and beyond. No thanks, not worth it.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes!

“ Who does your EOY Reviews? Who determines allocation of Connection Awards? Your Supervisor. Who determines promos and progressions?”

Only 1 or 2 people per group get a connection award. Some never see them. The raises are all with a few percentage points.

There is no incentive to take your laptop home.

Incorrect. Who does your EOY Reviews? Who determines allocation of Connection Awards? Your Supervisor. Who determines promos and progressions? Typically, your Supv plus his/her Supv. How likely are you to be on receiving end of goodness with your advice? Almost never. How much does a stellar Presence Report contribute to those things? Almost never.
