It’s a very strange company. So many suffer from the old notion of “Get a forever job with Fords and never have to work another day for the rest of your life.” The few who do the work are churned and burned. The layoffs will be another joke, the wrong people will be cut, promotions will be handed out to the undeserving and then the bloat will re-expand.

Heard that if you have been here for a while or getting close to retirement, you really need to start thinking of leaving. We need to identify our new leadership and "you' need to really get them trained so we have our next folks in place. AKA. train the folks taking over your positions.

Then, followed up by you need to stop having all your 1-on-1's with everyone and start concentrating them with the folks that need to be pushed to the new un-obtainable bar and keep pushing them and not have them as much with the other folks.

This was also proceeded by 1929 depression talk where it was identified that we are in same conditions, but stock market has not collapsed yet - - - yada, yada, yada.

We also had same type of id--ts running the company - remember pay them a little extra and work them to death !

I agree that ICE is holding the company together. Most of the model E team came from failed new product teams. The program plans and testing are missing integrity and robust follow through. The same failures they provided in the newer ICE programs are the same that are ki-ling EV development.

ICE products are the only reason Ford is still in business. You guys are really drinking the kool aid in Model e if that’s a common thought. I don’t say this to be a je-k. Honestly, educate yourself on what actually brings in revenue at Ford and keeps the lights on.

This is one of the d-mbest comments I have read on this site, which is really, quite the accomplishment.

"They should outsource every function except PD.

If you do not have a physical part of an automobile in your hand heading to release you need to fund a different line of work."

My LL6 has not heard of layoffs. But I fully expect it to happen this year based on the terrible decisions by "leadership".

Model e needs to go to save the company

I highly doubt this. LL6 levels, and even LL5 levels to a certain extent, are not in the loop when i comes to layoffs.

In model e and our leader said not to worry, our area is untouchable. It’s the old, labour intensive ICE that is ki-ling us.

@ga+1jmn7stjd True the new leaders are incompetent but sadly so were the old leaders. I had lunch on Friday with prior coworkers. I am still SMH at the nonsense that is going on in F and FC IT. I’ve been retired for 3 years and they have yet to complete a literal one month ”critical” project, they continue to have weekly finger pointing status meetings and fund the project. The infrastructure team improperly installs patches, then claims they did nothing and it’s not their responsibility to fix the issues. The end users are calling the software vendors to complain, the software vendors meet with the F and FC execs as they are afraid their software will get the boot because of F infrastructure incompetence. The execs then pay for expensive consultants to determine root cause. The infrastructure teams lie and deny access needed by consultants to properly diagnose issues. Around and around they go. Everyone ducking and covering their behind. All the competent people were either SRDed or quit or retired. It’s good entertainment for those no longer in the circus tent. But you have to wonder how much longer can this go on? How many other multi-million dollar CF are there?

Cutting Model e or anything from Model e would be a massive mistake. The company's future depends on the success of Model e and its products/services revenue streams. That is the key pillar to the Ford+ Transformation Plan. Get educated on the plan.

Some of the new LL2s are firing their LL3/4/5s and bringing their buddies to milk Ford dry. We see it in IT and Credit. It no secret, everyone sees what’s happening and the new so-called leader are totally incompetent.

Model E will have to be cut, and it will have to be soon if Ford is going to survive.

The truth hurts.

Just look how many LL5, LL4, LL3 s “retired” last year. It used to be “take a family leave” and never hear from them again, now it is all about retiring. You tell which one didn’t really retire if their LinkedIn account changed to “available to work” or they get a job few months after leaving.

Yeah of course, an LL6 would know the ratings of LL5 and LL4. Totally believable, isn't it?

Make up something better next time.

it is noy layoffs per se, all those who got level 1 PR will be asked to start PIP ASAP and will be assessed in 3 mos. Most of those who got Not Meet, have been in the company for at least 25 yrs. Even some highly regarded LL5 and LL4 got level 1 PR, same situation those LL's have been in Ford more than 25 yrs. The strategy according to a LL6 close to the heat is to replace "expensive" individuals with less expensive ones.
PIP will be the norm and those in that program will face he-l so they decide to quite on their own or be fired w/minimum severance package
Way to Go Ford :-(

I think ford is doomed, with $ so tight customers want the most bang for their buck which means buying HONDA, TOYOTA, Hyundai
And SUBARU. Sorry Henry your family sc--w the public for too long. EV’s are dying

Folks, I wrote this last year in March and I will write this again now. NO indication of massive layoff this year. Small pockets of targeted individuals or groups will occur year after year as there will always be adjustment to the plan. You are wasting your time worrying about layoffs. It is not healthy. Now go enjoy your weekend and spend time with your family.

It’s obvious that Ford’s business model has a serious flaw. They hitched their cart to the wrong pony. They were promised that ICE vehicles would be banned (along with gas stoves, water heaters and generators). That pony lost the race.

Now that they’ve poured billions into EV development, it’s not going to pay off.

Model E will have to be cut, and it will have to be soon if Ford is going to survive.
