Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

List accomplishments or resign, Robin to follow Musk lead

From the responses ...

Wouldn't it be intriguing to employ an AI tool to analyze and tabulate the duplication of work across the globe? This would allow us to streamline the organization by reducing the excessive workforce that believes itself to be indispensable.

DOGE like department at the bank ..

No need for SUB or severance. No need for PIP. Just simple your job is eliminated - Bye! Let the fired bring on a law suit. It will take years to resolve them through arbitration ..

Actually the poster has that correct you block head. The word posture can be used as a verb to mean position, especially strategically. You apparently do not even possess a University of Kleenex degree. Silly dilly.

Oh for sure. It’s why Jack Welch lived long enough to see his legacy become a failure. It’s why GE is a model for failed leadership. It’s why his vitality curve and forced ranking system are considered an obsolete, short term gain, long term fail system. Your post is just you needing to be contrary to good sense.

You mean “proposed”, not “Postured”.

Allow me to guess… University of Phoenix Graduate in “Feelings?”

And yet Jack Welch invented the least bad system for clearing out dead wood people who had no business getting hired.

Forced Rankings are a beautiful system…

AND it weeds out the deadwood who do nothing.

All productive people love Forced rankings and all slackers hate it and many leave.

It’s truly a wonderful system which Robin lucked into…

DOGE is necessary and needed for Government. We have a morbidly obese and wasteful corrupt government that is out of control. And what we have here at BNY is cost cutting in the wrong areas and actually a bad Jack Welch failed strategy. We need less management fat layers and more developement and sensibility to be truly agile. This bank is un-American and it’s got nothing to do with the British. It has everything to do with liberal left greedy board members.

DOGE = Dept of Goons n Egocentric bas’ds.
Accomplishments —
P-M = Sham
Cost Cuts = Corporate Genoci*e
‘C’orporate ‘S’traregy= ‘C’ommercial ‘S’h*t Show

That sums up the British leadership. At best - lousy!! Let’s get back to being American.
Wheres the ground breaking product they were to build using the nvdia chip touted by BE year ago.

"DOGE- Like" efforts: The perfect way to purge the slackers and replace them with people that actually care about doing their jobs to the best of their abilities.

This idea has already been postured. It is a 100% certainty that from the L1-L4 level there is a significant overage of non performers, bureaucracy and overlap that probably covers multiple levels across depts and down the org. P-M is a failure already and so was it’s parent concept the PMO. There are too many useless projects that are sponsored by these high paid add ons who must make a name for themselves. They compete for the same resources, time and calendar. They are all done with end dates first without understanding or even developing requirements and specs. And now that we are agile in name only, it’s futile and introduces even more waste. This firm could save $1B annually by eliminating bad, pointless and unnecessary management along with the scams and wastes of money like P-M, agile for everything, Mckinsey, alts bridge, oracle bank apps, custom dev for big clients like BLK etc etc. AI can easily track and replace many roles on its very own and be adopted by app and op teams who already have leadership roles. We do not need jokes like high paid Innovation officers who come in here with nothing but hubris and disrespect. We waste too much money on leaders that are bad and pointless. We have many people on the ground who are far closer to the issues and the answers needed. As a shareholder, you want to see the top 10 things done flawless. Not the top 10,000 efforts done poorly and failed.

Here you go, my accomplishments from last week:

  1. Filled out Peakon survey with all zero’s.
  2. Identified serious mistakes that saved BNY from multi-million $ losses from our crack Pune folks.
  3. Secretly flipped off managers during meeting where I refused to turn on camera.
  4. Managed to drag myself into the office through terrible weather and sitting in horrific traffic only to sit on Teams calls and not actually interact with anyone in the office.
  5. Most importantly…..managed to make it through another week at this dump without going Postal!

Let's see how well the economy and tax base is once the only people banking and shopping are the wealthy. See where those credit card fees and interest payments come from then when the shopping comes to a halt.
