Yesterday here in Clinton, they were chucking library books off of the back patio down into a dumpster. I bet that was done safely and ergonomically... O.o

ID: @yd+1jn1g24bc And they weren’t cheap 😢 so sad
I hear that Clinton is also tossing high through put pilot plants in the dumpster.
They are chucking SME's of various diciplines out the window......so only fair they are chucking old books that still have value.
Poor Clarence, would never have believed what’s going on there in 2025😢. I miss Mr Frosty
@mh that is not accurate. The Clinton site was built and commissioned in early 1980s.
1983 - 2026, it barely breaks the 40 years mark. There are some lucky people spent their entire career at Clinton, but they are few and far between... It is indeed a beautiful site.
All those global warming studies from the 60's - gone.
Dang shame.
What a waste...glad i retired while it was a real research facility
The only people I've seen in the Clinton library were not there for the books...and if you see this as a worthy SHE risk, then further supports the disconnect of with reality
That will go along with the 100s of thousands of equipment that will be abandoned with the building because there is no one decommission it for sale.
It’s a shame. I saved a memorabilia from the dumpster on campus. A retiree left it hoping that someone else will care for it. It’s not valuable but it was a link to a life’s work decades before. I rescued it and now it collects dust on my shelf. It’s a reminder that we stand on the shoulders of true innovators. Not the charlatans.
Some of those books, especially the older ones, are quite valuable on e-Bay. Clinton staff should dumpster dive, take them home, and sell them at Half-Price Books or on e-Bay
They've been doing it for weeks. Of course no one has really needed those books for years.
