Tax Advanced Recovery on Paycheck

Anyone know what this tax line item is? I’ve noticed it on most every paycheck since the 3rd quarter last year. This is totaling nearly $100 per paycheck. I’ve emailed payroll and they responded that it has been forwarded to a specialist but crickets on an answer for almost two weeks. I’m in retail, nearing my rule of 75 next January. Trying to survive after being surplussed in management and trying to protect myself by being back in the union.

That kind of deduction can sometimes be associated with leave pay. (Like if an employee got overpaid/paid at the wrong rate for medical leave.)

You don't say when you were surplussed, but perhaps something associated with that transition was taxed or paid at the wrong rate. Maybe if you made the transition, they went ahead and kept you on a regular payment schedule bc you were an existing employee and didn't make you wait the additional time most people have to wait when starting a new job to get in the right payment cycle. That would be considered a pay advance and would have to be paid back.

Way too many variables, so unfortunately, you will have to wait to hear back from someone in payroll.

Seniority transferred over, I never really questioned it though. Not sure if it was because I started originally in retail.

Stankey needs a new set of jammies and for you to contribute to Free Cash Flow so they can make the Streets expectations and dividend cash back initiative.

This is a deduction to help pay for parking facilities at AT&T offices.

OP: how does seniority work in that case? When you move to the bargain for position, do you bring your seniority with you?

Not a tax expert but there’s an article floating around surrounding at&t employee checks with taxes being a problem recently.
