No, it's really not. I have no way of knowing what any candidate looks like when I create the interview pool. I pick the best looking resumes, then the recruiter screens out people not interested in the pay level, schedule etc. Race isn't a factor in any way in creating the pool. So if it winds up being all white, all black, all Samoan, or whatever, that's coincidental. I'm a white guy. All but one of the promotions I've received over the years came from non-white managers. These days I have way more than 13% of my reports being black. I'd it because I favor black people? No, it's because I hire the best people and in the pools of candidates I've had, the best people turned out to coincidentally be from that group. I don't care either way. If all my reports are black, or white, or any other single group, I wouldn't care. Do I have good people? That's all I care about. If you ever look at a group of people and think to yourself that it 'needs' more or less of any demographic, you're probably a bigot.
Rules for thee but not for me. Hypocrites.
@b1+1jn4cgszf, We can only hope his and SDI's days are numbered. Even the black people he hired have admitted he su-ks and is only on the OC as the 'token'. He's tried to move up to a CEO role at at least 3 other companies and got passed for every one since they know his true rep.
Can't wait to hear SDI is no longer needed and he, his HR "CYA" buddy, and all his "white woman ha--m" are kicked back to the gutter.
Hey man cant we all get along?
@ay+1jn4cgszf No they are from Des Moines....
hmm then is AW III gone? what about MM SDI?
Then maybe more qualified minorities should apply for the roles. That was the problem before, they'd literally just find bodies to interview just to say the dis. They would even open up the reqs again multiple times to beg minorities to apply. Then guess what kind of trash you get by doing that?
they are still hiring the most qualified people, the previois efforts are about making sure you have a representative sample in your applicant pool. If your pool only includes people that look like you then that's a problem .
But that won't stop the crazies from whining about it
WF does something right, for once. Just pick the best candidate. The end. Nothing else needs to be said.
Is this mean all companies are going managed by men . That is kinda boring.. When they introduced DEI , they thought it was great idea and it was probably a men floated to get some extra bonus.
JPM must have ran out of diverse rejects to pick from.

I think most people just want the best qualified person for the job.
Merit should always win, and this proves it.
