Several factors for RTO but one is definitely projection from leadership. They came of age when collaboration tools were in their infancy and they really don't understand that in-person isn't required.

The irony is that the lack of trust and low morale edicts like RTO produce end up reducing productivity. Both morale and trust are flatlining right now all over the place.

In the end, this is about workforce reduction and control. It is backfiring on them just like everything else they’ve done (shocked). Eventually it will be seen as the great knee je-k over rotation that it is and a bad decision. The future is a hybrid and a remote workforce with fewer offices whether they like it or not.
