New Jersey is currently the only state that mandates severance pay by law in certain cases. Under its amended WARN Act (effective 2023), employers with 100 or more employees must provide one week of severance pay per year of service to workers affected by mass layoffs.

“I've seen previous posts indicating severance pay may be reduced to as little as 2 weeks for management employees. Any truth to that? “

I don’t care. I live in New Jersey and my severance is guaranteed by law. My severance will be greater than 6 months pay regardless of what they do.

We’ve see this speculation for a long time now. The management severance is already below standard. Doubtful it will be reduced further.

"There is a very long line of employees who are ready to leave and just waiting to be given severance."

I've seen previous posts indicating severance pay may be reduced to as little as 2 weeks for management employees. Any truth to that? If so, is that really the big package people are holding out hope for? With so few exit dollars, and such in demand high skillsets, why are people staying if they hate it so bad here?

If you want to stay and you’re not a problem, and if they don’t plan to move your center to another state, you don’t have much to worry about.

There is a very long line of employees who are ready to leave and just waiting to be given severance.

There are so many people ready to leave in my org, my only concern is if they move our work out of state. Otherwise, I know with absolute certainty that I’m good.

It’s slowing down for the 50+ caucasian's because there aren’t that many left after being targeted in previous waves. The DEI layoffs will begin to accelerate when nothing gets done and they don’t show up for work. My bad, strike that last statement. They’re the entitled class.
