Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Same here. From now on I treat it as an instruction that company gives me 1h of my personal time to get to work/home. Anything above that goes on company time.

I got an email: “With the new onsite work guidance and your lengthy commute distance to the closest Dell office, you will be continue to be classified as a remote team member in Workday.”

For context, I far exceed the 1 hour commute and was working remote before the pandemic. I would go in if I could, but not able to relocate because spouse is active duty military and I don’t have a choice in where I live. For those in a similar position, you or your leader can open a ticket to start an exception process with Employee Relations.

Just got the email—surprised I’m staying remote, right on the cusp of an hour using Google maps.

It went out this morning - or check JOB tab under WorkDay - and if it no longer says remote, get your a$$ in the office you lazy dog !

Nope nothing. They couldn’t even be bothered to tell you where to go. It just shows that they don’t care about you being in the office, just that they want you to quit.

No email, just status change of location. Which wasnt even "onsite" just removed remote and now says an office. Wouldn't have known if I didn't go look.

No, but some (not all) statuses have been updated in workday. Some still say remote who are clearly within an hour to the office.

Tell your boss to get off his a-s and check in, unless he/she isn't in the office?

Seems like they're not even giving us the courtesy of letting us know that they have f*cked us.

no email but status has changed. I didnt even have a notification on workday. I only knew because i had checked last week and again today and saw it had changed
